The Diary Game: Naija "Heat": More Than Just Fever, It's A Whole Mood[18-08-2026]
Hello Nigeria Family on Steemit. How are you all doing? I hope everybody is alright.
Just a cruise on Naija "Heat": More Than Just Fever, It's A Whole Mood.
In Nigeria, when we say "I get heat" it can mean 10 different things at once.
Medical Heat: Body pain, fever, malaria, typhoid. The one that will make you go pharmacy and collect Marcgesic to take at night.
Money Heat: When bills comes from everywhere but salary never enter. That kind of heat hot pass fire.
NEPA Heat: 3 days no light, generator fuel finished, phone battery 5%. The heat is real.
Traffic Heat: Lagos to Ibadan that suppose be 2hrs but you spend 6hrs. Sweat, anger, and okada weaving everywhere.
Life Heat: Family pressure, "when are you going to marry?", "what are you doing with your life?" That silent heat that sits in your chest.
We Nigerians are strong sha. Even with all this "heat", we still laugh, we still japa, we still find joy in small things. We take our drugs, we drink water, we gist with friends, and we keep pushing.
But sometimes we need to pause. Take the medicine when you need to. Rest when your body tells you. Talk to someone when the "life heat" is too much. Because health is wealth, and peace of mind is the real japa.
So my people, which kind of "heat" are you dealing with this week?
Thank you for reading. Stay cool, stay blessed Steemit Nigeria
