The Dairy Game || 02-03-2026|| Beginning Renovation On A New Site
When I woke up this morning the first thing I did today was to consider the daily text with my family as usual. Today’s text was from Psalm 61:4: “I will be a guest in your tent forever.” The explanation talk about how Jehovah invites us into His protection like a tent, and how we can stay close to Him no matter what.
I wasn't feeling quite happy from the start, and that was because I missed an important meeting yesterday because of misinformation,
But I still ate garri and soup, took my bath, dressed up
.
My boss had updated me before hand that we were going to another site today. When we reached I was happy to see that blocks had arrived and were neatly stacked in one corner. The stacks looked good, everything organized.
But when I looked around I was disappointed. The laborer who was supposed to handle excavation hadn’t done it yet. No digging, no concrete blinding done either. Because of that there wasn’t enough space to start laying blocks properly. The ground was still rough and uneven.
Since there wasn’t enough space to lay blocks, there was no need to call extra laborers today. So me and Joseph took charge. I measured sand using a headpan, mixed it with cement to make mortar, and we started raising the blocks.
Joseph was on one side, I was on the other. We laid them carefully, checking levels and making sure the walls were straight.
We both laid about 136 blocks. The work went steady.
While we were raising the blocks, the laborer finished excavating the other part of the house. After that we did the concrete blinding for tomorrow.
We closed around 8:00 pm. I reached home late, body tired from carrying headpans, lifting blocks, and standing long. Took my bath, ate small, and now resting. The walls we raised today look solid, and the blinding ready for tomorrow casting.
I don't really like renovation work it's usually more stressful compared to raising a new house, but I'm quite pleased with the progress
