Movie Title: Hidden Figure

There are a lot of movies that speak of injustice, challenging a norm or a culture, and "Hidden Figures" is the movie that I have chosen to talk about in response to the contest questions.

The movie titled "Hidden Figures" is a drama movie that is so inspiring and it is about the true life story of three brilliant African American women who worked with NASA during the early years of space exploration back in 1960. It is a movie that focuses on:

  • Taraji Of. Henson as Katherine Johnson
  • Octavia Spencer As Dorothy Vaughan
  • Janelle Monae as Mary Jackson

Despite the racism in the movie and gender discrimination, these aforementioned women make use of their real intelligence, determination, and courage to make major contributions to NASA's success, including assisting an astronaut named John Glenn to safely orbit the earth.

One good thing that I like about the movie is that it celebrates hard work, the power of believing in yourself, and equality even when society tries so hard to limit you.

What social issue did the movie highlight?

1000617733.jpg

The movie highlights racial discrimination and gender inequities in the workplace of NASA. Also, the movie showed how talented black women working at NASA were treated unfairly because of their race and gender, despite their contributions and intelligence.

Also, the film challenged the belief that women, most especially black women couldn't succeed in the field of science and in the role of leadership.

Did it change how you see this issue?

1000617730.jpg

Yes, it changes how I see the issue. The movie makes me realise how talented people are being ignored in our society and discriminated against.

Also, the movie shows that opportunities are not something that should be based on ability and hard work, but also not on gender or race. The determination of the women in the movie was too inspiring and reminded me that persistence and courage can break barriers or ties.

How is this theme discussed this week relevant today?

Yes, this theme is still relevant today because a lot of people continue to face discrimination in the workplace, society, and schools. Women and minorities in some communities still struggle for equal opportunities and recognition.

Also, the movie teaches us about the importance of fairness, inclusion, and challenging. Our society gets to grow stronger when everyone is given equal opportunities and respect to grow.

Welcome to Steemit challenge season 31| movie Magic week4

Good movie but unfortunately someone else has written on it already.

The movie highlighted a very serious issue of racial discrimination, what we call racism!

Was expecting to see the year the movie was produced and even the name of the producer.
