Nayagan (Tamil)
The film Nayagan is a fictional documentary about Mumbai don Varadaraja Mudaliar. Nayagan is one of the best films made in the history of Indian cinema. Kamal Haasan's brilliant performance and Mani Ratnam's perfect screenplay have made it a cult classic.

Did the movie make you more curious about the real-life story?
The story of a boy Velu from Tamil Nadu (Varatharaja Mudaliyar in real) who kills his father's killer and goes to Mumbai to become a powerful Don who controls the entire Dharavi area is beautifully told in scene by scene. Velu's smoldering anger at the injustice done by a corrupt cop, Velus's decision to kill a cop, Velus falling in love with a prostitute, Velus facing repeated problems in his life as if he is being punished for doing the right thing the wrong way.
Which scene or moment felt the most powerful or emotional?
There are somany scenes in the film mad me emotional. Kamal's performance is so complex - the grief of losing Vaapa, the grief of losing his wife, the agony of losing his son Surya (his crying scene could break your hair). The scene where he leaves his daughter home without seeing his grandson - the scene where he blesses her with tears in his eyes - no actor in the country could have played it with such perfection.
What lessons did you learn from the true story portrayed?
Crimes were and are everywhere. Some as sins, others as atonement! Velu Nayak's act was atonement. Atonement for the crimes committed by his government. What we saw on screen was Velu Nayak's life. But the story is not about him. From the scene where Velu Nayak's father is killed, the fangs of the bureaucracy that was a slave to the capitalists of that time began to emerge. The director would have taken that as a thread and moved the story forward.
How did it make you feel about the people or time period it represented?
Kamal Haasan, moving away from the young action and romantic hero, showed a different dimension in his performance as a don. His vision for a hero, which was a mixture of style, arrogance and determination, made him a delight throughout the film. The young Velu and the old Velu hero came to life on screen only because of Kamal's body language. If he had smiled and spoken even a millimeter more, that bad boy would have been Kamal's chocolate boy. Kamal took a lot of pains to show his clean-shaven, bright face as a gangster.
I want to invite my friends

Welcome to steemit challenge season 28.
Thank you for participating in movie Highlights week 2. Below are details of your post evaluation.
Oh yes! The movie you have shared is based on real life story. Weldone.
Total 8.5/10
Even though it's only a fictional story, a touch of reality is a key reference for writers of a film's storyline. Nearly all films incorporate true stories, some of which involve individuals, groups, the treatment of their citizens, or natural events that remain historical records that remain unforgettable for the public.
Why does watching a sad or happy story move someone? Because every character in a story is played by the same human being (the same being): the audience and the actors. All viewers expect a compelling ending that meets the audience's expectations, which is what makes a film considered the best.
Nearly all films feature two stories, two characters—good and evil—and problem-solving. Yes, almost every country has experiences and realities that are inevitable in the journey of life.
Will a film with a great story be able to touch and enlighten its audience? Not necessarily. Because in certain contexts, not all viewers understand the substance of a film, except for a few scenes they enjoy.
..It's true, as you say, that the story in a film can be very helpful in providing information, learning, and experience, including ways to solve complex problems in everyday life, such as the story of the film "NAYAKAN," where the main character must resolve his own problems following the tragedy of his father's murder. His long journey is very difficult because he has to deal with evil and corrupt state officials (the police).
I really hope your interesting writing about the film NAYAKAN for this challenge will be successful....
