In the Midst of Disappointment

In the midst of disappointment? Damnit such situation is seriously complicated to handle considering the fact that it triggers different emotions, heartbreak, grief, resentment and especially if the disappointer is a close person.

As human we feels terrifying when we're disappointed because situation like that can occur at a very crucial moment, it's hard you know to be disappointed in something you really hoped would happen, well it's complicated to deal with it and in this content of mine I'll be sharing light on dealing with disappointment, let's go guys.

That moment where you expect something positive and it doesn't happen; that's an absolute disappointment, could be from a friend, a coworker or even relatives. Like you already said, disappointment is a universal human experiencthat happens to anyone regardless of your status.

Because sometimes it's not the other party fault that we get disappoint; because another person can force another person to disappoint another person. Being disappointed is very painful and it can cause terror, because it can happen at a crucial time, a crucial moment that can lead to intense heartbreak.

I'm saying this because I've experienced disappointment at the core and I understand how I felt, in the next slide I'll tell you guys the type of disappointment i experienced and what cause it.

Severally I've been disappointed but I want to discuss about the most recent one that happened week before last week, my church convention was about to schedule in one week time and a friend of mine came to borrowed the only money I saved for assembling transport.

according to he was on urgent money situation and I was his saviour at that moment, so I hand over the 5k I kept for convention transport to him and he promised to return in four days, I accepted and he left with the money. Day before the convention i called and he said I should relaxed that he would send on the convention day so I listen.

On the convention day i called earlier in the morning and said I should give him some minutes and I did, after a full preparation I called and his phone was switched off, at first I considered it a joke so i dialed the number the second time and still off, damn I was furious because I had no plan-B as usual, I trusted him that I hoped on him and in return I was disappointed.

I think what caused the disappointment was my lack of plan-B like I always do, I trusted so much that I forgot to have a another plan, I should've had a backup plan but somehow I failed and at the end I was disappointed, it was extremely hard to deal with it and here's why:

Psychologically we're happy when we have a future plan, our mind release a dopamine in moment like this but when the fallacy arrives, it triggers pain, emotional damage, grief and other negativity, actually it's natural like a universal human experience so it knocks on every doors.

For instance let's assume you hope on a job promotion, a marriage proposal, to score a penalty kick and so on, moments like this bring goosebumps because you're about to become a millionaire, a husband or wife, the goal scorer but coming to reality the things you dearly hoped on doesn't happen as expected, you become bum-out, hard to believe the situation and sometimes it can lead to unforgivable ending.

Remember my experience with disappointment, I was super annoyed and I couldn't believe that the guy would wound me to that extreme, my anger was seriously provoke so yes it's hard to deal with disappointment but somehow we can try to make a disappointment less painful and below is how.

After a careful consideration I believe that following the below steps will help us to make disappointment less painful.

• Having a backup plan:

our people used to say that prevention Is better thank and I think implying this method can make disappointment less painful but how? Well having a backup plan like plan-B and plan-C will help us to prevent disappointment.

• Some disappointment is a blessing.

I don't accept with the phrase that every disappointment is a blessing rather I accept that some disappointment is a blessing the turnaround of some disappointment can become a blessing in some case scenario and I've seen it happen before, not just seen I've experienced it before, so i believe that the belief that a disappointment can literally become a blessing would reduce the weight of disappointment.

• Acknowledge that disappointment is a universal human experience:

And lastly it'll be a relief to understand that being disappointed is a universal human experience, it's natural and it can happen to anyone at any given time, in case like this accepting the fact that we're actually disappointed for real can help us move on and gradually overcome the odds of the disappointment.
