Hello friends, welcome to my blog. Today I decided to hop in on this contest, and I hope you find my entry interesting. Let's get right into it guys!

What does the phrase “In the midst of crisis” mean to you? Share your understanding in your own words.

In the midst of crisis can simply be rephrased as "in the midst of challenging situations and difficulties". When you say someone is in the midst of a crisis, you're simply saying that a person is surrounded by overwhelmingly challenging situations which could escalate into something worse if not properly handled.

I think every man would have to face such challenging situations at some point in his lives because this season does not announce itself before showing up, the way we prepare and handle times like this will determine to a large extent if it will break us completely or make us better versions of ourselves.

When in the midst of crisis, what do you usually do, like the first thing you do? How do you handle it? (It can be personal, academic, financial, or emotional.)

Sincerely speaking challenging moments are not interesting, they are moments we wish were avoidable but sadly they are not. Moments like this test you emotionally, mentally and otherwise but you just have to ensure you calm down and take things easy.

When faced with a situation like this, I try as much as possible to maintain my cool because in situations like these are where people make hasty decisions that end up making the situation worse than it's already. An average person is always tempted to act fast even though they do not clearly understand the situation. They want a quick relief which is human but many a times the quick relief never really gives a lasting solution.

I always have this mindset that whatever it is that comes my way is temporal, it will surely pass and I will be fine but that doesn't mean I won't do anything about the challenge, nah! Of course I will but that mindset gives me some sort of ultimate relief that I'm only experiencing life at a particular phase and that phase will fade away.

Do you believe crises make people stronger or weaker? Explain your view.

Yes I believe but this depends on the way it's being perceived and handled, some of the crisis people experience are as a result of their inexperience. People go through tough times because they are green and naive, their experience alone can teach them a very hard lesson that if well received and learnt could make one a better version of oneself.

On the other hand, crisis might just be as a result of life's up and down moment and even in cases like this you can learn some lessons and become a better version of yourself. Anyone who decides not to see the bright side of whatever challenging situation they went through would not become better.

Any of the above category of crisis will leave you with lessons but won't force them on you, accepting to take lessons is what brings about the change and transformation. Some people who were once in a mess now have a message that their world now yearns to hear. They got a message from their mess because they decided to take their lessons from their horrible experiences.

What lesson(s) did you learn from that experience, and how has it shaped you today?

I wouldn't like to share my challenging experiences but trust me I've had many and I've picked quite a number of lesson from every challenge I've faced so far. Some are not really big lessons, I could even miss the lesson if adequate care is not taken, that's how slippery some of these lessons are. But recently I've learnt to be a good manager of resources.

"Mismanagement" has taught me a serious lesson, a lesson I learnt with some hard earned money of mine. You know I mentioned earlier that some of the crisis people go through are as a result of their actions or inaction. At least I now know that diversifying ones resources and being prudent with what one has can save one a lot of trouble and challenges because sometimes they are avoidable .

I think I need to wrap up this piece at this point. But let me leave you with this...that whatever crisis or challenging situation a man goes through, leaves such a man a lesson which is capable of making him a better version of himself, he has to see the lesson and embrace it before it can actually transform him or her. Those who see and choose the negative side of the challenging situation never get better after such experience. Thanks for reading. Gracias!
