Parents play huge roles in our lives. They love us, support us, and make a lot of sacrifices that are priceless for us, but in many societies mothers are more celebrated than fathers; there are so many special days dedicated mainly for mothers, which has made a lot of people more curious about why mothers receive all the appreciation than fathers, even though both parents contribute greatly to the family.

The reason why mothers and women are mostly celebrated globally is because of the important roles they play in our lives. Mothers bring life into the world, they carry a human inside them for nine months, and sometimes some mothers carry 2 or 3 humans inside them at once. During these months, they go through a lot of pain, and they go through pain during the childbirth too.

Some women die during labor just because they want to bring a new life into the world. After childbirth their bodies also change; some of them get their body back, but most don't. All these are priceless roles that they play. They are also the ones who spend more time caring for their child while growing up; most women at this point may stop their business and careers just to make sure they are there for their children. So because of all this deep emotional and physical connection, many people feel so grateful towards mothers.

There are celebrations that are done in honor of men in my country, Nigeria. The most common one is Father's Day. On this day, people tend to appreciate their fathers and those who act as father figures to them. They appreciate their sacrifice, support, and love. Fathers do often receive messages and gifts and spend quality time with their families on this day.

Some communities also celebrate men during cultural and traditional festivals, more especially when they have achieved something big or have contributed to the progress of their families and communities, they are being honored sometimes with recognition, titles, or special ceremonies. But we still can't compare it to the way mothers are celebrated celebrations for men are quieter and not as widely public as mothers' own.

In my own opinion, I don't think men are being celebrated globally enough. Men are celebrated only once a year in my country, while mothers are celebrated several times a year. Father's Day is often quiet and not as widely celebrated as events for mothers. Men also play huge important roles in families and society. They provide guidance, support, and protection and contribute a lot to the growth of the children and communities.

Most men don't want to be more present in the children's lives because they feel that at the end of everything, mothers are going to receive all the accolades, most fathers work quietly behind the scenes, which is not supposed to be so. I hope men can be more praised because their sacrifices are as important as mothers' also. Recognizing fathers and men publicly and loudly, appreciating and praising them, is going to inspire them to be present in raising their children and supporting families.
