Describe an idea, plan, or decision (yours or someone else’s) that failed.

I am an electrical engineer. I am the head of the electrical department of a company. I have to make decisions about electricity. One wrong decision of mine can lead to a big accident. I have made many successful decisions about electricity in the last seven years. However, Three years ago, I made a mistake in making a decision about electricity . I still think about the unsuccessful electricity issue sometimes.

I use my experience in high voltage line work for electrical work.

Our company produces rods by melting iron. A lot of smoke is produced during the melting of iron, and the environment is polluted. A new method for purifying smoke has been introduced in our country. The method developed for purifying smoke is very expensive. I made a new plan to reduce the cost of the smoke purifying method. For this, I spent a lot of money from the company and purchased electrical equipment. But the situation around me did not allow me to succeed in setting up the smoke purifying machine. Later, I spent a lot of money to set up the smoke purifying machine. But I still regret that the electrical work did not go as per my plan.

What was the original intention behind it? Why do you think it failed?

It is very difficult to work in a private job in our country. There is rivalry among office colleagues in the job. That happened in my case, too. Many of my office colleagues did not want me to start the smoke purification project. But if I could have started the smoke purification project according to my plan, then the cost would have been much less.

My Electrical Team

The biggest reason for failure is my experience. I did not have enough knowledge to start a smoke purification project then. Now I have acquired enough knowledge to start a smoke purification project. At that time, my relationship with my colleagues in the team was not very good. But now my electrical team helps me a lot in my work.

What would you do differently if given another chance?

If I get another chance, I will be able to start the smoke purification project in a beautiful way at a low cost. I will be able to work with the smoke purification machine much more easily. I started a new smoke purification project with my electrical team later. We were able to solve the previous mistakes quickly. I had to learn electrical work from mistakes. When I first finished my education in electricity, I had no real work experience. I joined the job as a fresh engineer. Gradually, I gained experience by seeing the electrical works in reality.

I am now very skilled in electrical work.

I am now very experienced in the field of smoke purification machines. I can solve electrical faults quickly with my electrical team. I am learning electrical work every day. I am increasing my work experience. If I get another chance, I will launch the smoke purification machine with more modern technology. I always try to solve the tasks of my electrical department quickly. I practice my knowledge every day to reduce the costs of our company. The mistake that day has changed me more. I have completed electrical tasks more efficiently in the future.

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗

Hi @mahadisalim, welcome to thinking and ideas week 5

My Observations:

Just as the saying goes, knowledge is power. Mistake is bound to occur most times but learning from the mistake is important.
