SC-S28/W4-Movie Highlights | Genre Flip (Arundhati)

in Steem4Nigeria10 hours ago

My friends, how are you all? I have come to participate in another new challenge this week. After seeing the topic of this week's challenge, my reaction was worth watching. I mean, "Genre Flip"? Does that mean I have to watch something that I usually avoid? So come on, friends.

Honestly, I am that public who hides his face under a cover when he hears the name of a ghost movie. My relationship with horror movies is like a snake and a snail. Once when I was a child, I dared to watch a scary movie, and after that, I couldn't sleep without turning on the light for three nights. Since then, I promised myself. I will never spend money to be scared again in my life.

But while the task came, I notion, permit's show some bravery this time. If you do not get out of your comfort zone, you can't study something new.

After a whole lot of deliberation, I selected "Arundhati". Why this movie? Because I had heard from pals that even though it was scary, the tale changed into tremendous. So, gathering up some bravery (clearly, by means of strengthening my heart!) I sat down in front of the display.

Why had I avoided horror movies for so long?

Simply put, I am a horror film! Yes, I am now not ashamed to confess it. I used to suppose that existence is so boring, why do I need to growth my heartbeat by watching films? Something all of a sudden acting on the screen, or that creepy sound, those can not get on my nerves. So romantic or comedy films have been my international. I could not discover any good judgment in intentionally scaring myself.

Did my fear go away after watching Arundhati?

Believe it or no longer, after ten to 15 minutes of starting the movie, I forgot that I was watching a horror movie. At the beginning, whilst the surroundings and the spooky ecosystem of that palace were being created, I clearly desired to press the pause button and run away. But the more the tale stepped forward, the more I got into the story.

The biggest thing is that it didn't seem like a mere "ghost movie" to me. It seemed like a story of indomitable courage. I was especially impressed by the fiery energy and unyielding mentality of the character 'Arundhati'. I felt like, hey! This girl is stronger than a ghost!

When the villain fell at the end of the movie, I felt like I had won a battle. I wouldn't have understood that fear is actually a mistake in our minds until I saw this movie.

The thing about the movie that moved me the most

It's a 2009 movie, but I was blown away by its visuals and making. Especially the flashback scenes, how wonderfully detailed they are.

However, I found the emotion of the story more interesting than the fear. A curse, a past life feud and a girl's comeback, all rolled into one terrifyingly beautiful package. The sound effects were such that sometimes I would cover my ears in reflex action, and then watch it with curiosity. What would happen next? This curiosity was the biggest surprise for me.

Will I watch horror movies again in the future?

Earlier, I would have said "no" in a word. But now the answer is, "Maybe yes. After watching 'Arundhati', I realised that not all horror movies are just unnecessary screams and bloodshed. If the story has a breath, then horror movies can also be an art. Now I don't have panic attacks like before. It seems that sometimes it's not bad to see a little suspense or mystery. Life can't always be monotonous, right?

Finally, I will say this: if it weren't for this challenge, I might never have known that I could enjoy horror movies. Arundhati was not just a movie for me, but a beautiful memory of overcoming that childhood fear within me.
