How is everyone? Hope everybody is well. I will share a movie review with you today. I really like watching movies. I especially like movies based on different types of real stories. Today I will share with you all the movie The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. This movie is about a little boy. He saved his village and the people of the village from famine very well by using his intelligence. This movie is first shown in a small village which is located in Africa. William will go to school today wearing a new dress. His father was very happy to see William wearing a new dress. Even though they were poor, his father always tried to educate his two brothers and sisters. Then William went to school with his friend. When the school was over, their science teacher told him to pay his salary.
Otherwise, he would be expelled from this school. They were very poor, due to which they could not pay the school fee for many months. They did not have money to buy kerosene to light their house. That is why he used to do his schoolwork during the day. But because he worked with his father on the farm, he could not study well, and he got bad results in exams. One day, after school, he and his friend went to the garbage dump. There, he found several things. He found a battery that was good, but it was not charged. So he took the battery with him. At night, when he was going home with his friend from outside, he saw the science teacher talking to his sister. They were in a love affair. He got very angry when he saw this. And during the day, he went to break the teacher's bicycle.
So that he could not meet his sister again. Then he saw the bicycle's headlight. That's why he didn't have the courage to break the bicycle. But he couldn't steal the headlight either. Meanwhile, the villagers sold the forest that saved their village from floods. As a result, there was a terrible flood in their village. And their crops were completely destroyed. On the other hand, William was expelled from school for not paying his salary. But he wanted to study and do something for his village. For this, he blackmailed the science teacher by telling him about his sister. As a result, he got the opportunity to study in the library. From there, he read the books and learned about electronics.
He had a lot of interest in electrical subjects before. He could fix small things. But one day, the school principal saw him. And forbade him from entering the school area. Meanwhile, their crops have become very small this time. Which they will not be able to eat for a long time. So he sells the rice from the house and earns some money for food. And his father talks to the village head about these things, to talk to the government people. But the village head doesn't help the government people in any way when he tells them everything. Instead, he increases the price for all these things. And he beats the village head a lot. And because of all these things, the villagers go to protest. Where William's father also goes. And on the other hand, every villager starts fighting due to lack of food.
One day they saw two trucks full of food arriving in the village. Everyone stood in line to get food. William also went to get food. He had taken the money his mother had saved. But in such a situation, he did not stand in line. Instead, he cleverly entered the godown. And then others forcibly took the food stored in their house from his mother and left. And William and several other people took the food from the godown and left through the back door. When his father and other villagers came to this village after the movement, they saw that the situation in the village was very bad. Everyone was fighting for food. The food they had would last for a few months. So they thought of eating one meal. Still, his uncle did not eat food because of the lack of food.
William had a pet dog. William used to leave some food for him while he was eating. But one day his father caught him. And said many things to him. Meanwhile, his father was trying to grow crops again during the drought. Then he blackmailed his sister and asked for the dynamo of the science teacher's bicycle. Her sister brought it to him. Then it was seen that his sister had run away with the science teacher. So that the rest of his family could eat. Meanwhile, William made a prototype of a turbine with his friends. And he showed it to his father. And he told his father to make it bigger with his bicycle, which he said would end the famine in his village. But his father took all these things seriously. Meanwhile, he came with his friends to steal bicycles. But his father caught them.
And one by one, many people were dying in the village. William's pet dog also died. Then his father thought of giving him a bicycle. If no one was there, he would not be able to do anything with the bicycle. And after giving him the bicycle, his father and even everyone in the village helped him to do everything. And with everyone's help, he successfully made a big turbine. As a result, water was coming from the ground to the land. And everyone was able to cultivate well. Seeing all this, William's father was very happy with him. Even everyone in the village was very proud of him. In this way, he saved his village and the villagers from famine.
What new perspective or culture did this movie introduce you to?
This film has introduced me to a new perspective or culture. I have understood the importance of a handful of rice in a person's life very well after watching this entire movie. People do everything for food. But for all these things, you have to fight and survive in the battle of life. I have become more familiar with this subject. I really have a new perspective here. But fighting is definitely necessary to survive in life.
Were there any stereotypes challenged or broken in the film?
Yes, this movie has challenged or broken many stereotypes. Especially here, the idea that a poor boy from a village cannot do anything great in life if he wants to has been broken. In this movie, the little boy has done a lot with his intelligence very well. The idea of stopping at the end of life has also been broken. No matter what happens, you must fight. Many people think that nothing will happen to such people. They have broken these misconceptions through this movie.
Which character's journey did you relate to the most?
Here I was more related to the journey of William, the main character of this film. Because the entire movie is about this boy. Here this boy uses his intelligence to save his village from famine by building a big turbine. As a result, the people of the village are also saved. He was able to do this because he tried all the time. And I liked all these things about him a lot. That's why I was more related to the journey of this character.
What’s one message from the film that stuck with you?
The message of the movie that has stuck in my mind is the fight for a handful of food. They have suffered a lot for a handful of food. Many of us waste food. But there are many people in our world who do not eat. They constantly fight with their lives for a handful of food. Then they get a handful of rice on their forehead. That is why it is necessary to think about these things before wasting food. Every person should respect food enough. Because it is the main means of survival in our life.
