Welcome to this week’s culinary journey!

In this challenge, my goal is to blend creativity, culture, and simple cooking ideas that anyone can try from home. Each week, I explore a new theme, experiment with flavors, and learn something fresh about food from different parts of the world.

This week’s presentation reflects not just the recipe, but the inspiration, the process, and the joy behind creating it. I hope it brings you as much excitement as it brought me while preparing it.

Now, let’s dive into my work for the week.

Week 2: “Street Food in the Kitchen!”

This week, we’re taking something fun, popular, and loved by everyone (street food) and giving it a global makeover. Pick any street food you already know or can easily get, then, add a small twist inspired by another country.

This week is all about:
✨ Playing with flavors
✨ Reimagining snacks
✨ Having fun with familiar foods

Have you tasted "puff puff doughnuts" with peanut butter and fresh onion slices? It's delicious!

For this week’s challenge, I decided to reinvent a familiar street food “puff puff” and bring it closer to the American doughnuts style. Even though the popular American doughnut is known for its ring shape. Well, many American doughnuts actually come as small round balls without any hole in the center, so my puff-puff doughnuts still fit perfectly into the doughnut family. I coated them with sugar to bring that American “sweet doughnuts, to table”.

To complete my Local Taste, Global Twist, I paired the doughnuts with something very familiar in my country, “peanut butter” and added fresh onion slices for a touch of contrast.

You don't need to buy something new, just make use of what is available for you and let the creativity flow!
