Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 140: Just Broken, Not Dead.
What's something that happened to you and felt impossible to get through but you did?
One of the hardest things I've gone through was a season where nothing seemed to work no matter how hard I tried. I felt stuck, discouraged, and unsure of what direction my life was taking. There were days when giving up felt easier than continuing. Looking back, I honestly don't know how I got through it except by taking one day at a time. Eventually, things started making sense, and I realized I was stronger than I thought.
How has this tough time changed what you value most?
It taught me to value peace of mind more than success or recognition. I used to think achievements were the most important thing, but difficult experiences showed me that good relationships, good health, and inner peace matter much more. These are the things that truly help one survive hard times.
What's a small win you've had recently that felt huge?
Recently, I completed something I had been procrastinating on for a long time. It might seem small to other people, but for me it was a big victory because it proved that I could stop overthinking and take action. Sometimes the smallest steps forward feel like the biggest accomplishments.
What's a new perspective you've gained on life or yourself?
I've learned that growth doesn't always look like progress. Take a look at a seedling when planted, it takes like forever to sprout and sometimes that growth doesn't always look like a progress. Sometimes growth is simply refusing to quit when things get difficult. I've also realized that I don't need to have everything figured out before moving forward. It's okay to learn along the way.
Is it really true that "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"? Why?
I think it's partly true. Though difficult experiences can make us stronger, wiser, patient. However, hardship alone doesn't automatically make someone stronger, what makes us stronger is how we respond to those experiences, what we learn from them, and whether we choose to keep going despite the pain. Challenges can either break us or build us, depending on how we process and grow from them.
In the end, strength isn't about never struggling at all, it's about continuing even when the struggle feels overwhelming.
