Monica was always hiding under the umbrella of a rich big lady; no one believes she is from a poor home.
She hangs out with big girls and boys. Oftentimes she follows her friends to their place for holidays. Unfortunately Monica's mother died as a result of suffering. When Monica had the bad news, she was worried because probably her friends would want to go with her to her mother's burial.Without informing her friends, she traveled to her mother's burial.
It happens that one of her friends was also from the same village as Monica. Unknowingly to them, they saw each other; it was as if the ground would open and let Monica fall inside. Because of Monica's lifestyle of not being true to herself, she lost her circle of friends, and her fake lifestyle was exposed.
What does it mean to be "true to yourself"?
Being true to oneself means a lot; to me, it's been contented and confident to yourself without falling to pressures from society or friends.Being true can mean doing good with or without watching what others are saying. I can go ahead to say it's been the real you both in and out with camouflage.
Why is it important for people to keep their promises?
The importance of keeping promises can not be overlooked because it helps people to rely on you for important issues. It attracts respect and integrity.Keeping to a promise helps someone to attract good opportunities that can be of help in the future.
What's the difference between being honest and being nice?
Being honest is somehow related to being nice because an honest person is described as a nice person. While an honest person is held in high esteem, a nice person can be seen as someone that shows care without being honest.Honesty is a virtue; it can only come from a well-disciplined person, while being nice can be influenced by reciprocating how well someone has treated you over time.
If your friend asked you to lie for them to get out of trouble, would you do it? Why or why not?
I know my friends; I don't just choose people because I want to have friends, but if eventually they are in trouble, I will not just jump in to lie. I will first ask her to tell me the truth in order to know why I should lie to save her, but then, my integrity is at stake here; therefore, I will tread with caution.If it's a lie that she is saying, for instance, she is under duress of doing something against her wish, in this case I will lie because her life is at risk in this particular time and my lie will save her.
But if it's a serious offense that will ruin our lives after when my lie is realized, I wouldn't try it. Because a lie can only last for a moment, but the truth must always come into play no matter how long it takes.
In a nutshell, for me to lie to save my friend, it depends on the case at hand.
