My Neighborhood Watch #136 Reporting Events Around Us
Hi great steemians from Steem4nigeria. Let me appreciate the organisers of this contest for consistently staging contest in order to keep this community busy and bubbling with engagements. I write to participate in this week's contest of My Neighborhood Watch. I had an event that happened in my neighborhood that has double interpretation. It was government intervention in our street road.

Yesterday, it was an amazing day for us where I live. Our street that has been giving us headache, got the attention of the government. This deplorable road has affected the economic activities of our people for a long time. When it rains, it becomes impassable and non-motorable. We had to battle with the flood to survive movement. Sometimes we had to take a long distance to any place for what would have taken us just a short distance. But thank God, our Local Government came to our rescue.

One thing is certain, this road construction will help in our socio-economic life. However, it has already affected us negatively. The only entrance to my work place has been sealed up by the heap of dark soil and materials from the construction company. On the first day, we found it very difficult to navigate our way to the school. But not for another short cut, it would have been a different story.

After so much public outcry and the SOS, the Local Council sent contractors to start the construction of our local road. It was exciting because it would relieve our plight. Even though it will cause a little pain in terms of disturbing movement and economic activities, at least, permanent solution is at sight.

When I got home, I kept reminiscing on the possible onset of rain and its effects. As if I was a seer, that night, it rained heavily that a heavy flood pulled down buildings. Behold, when I went to school the next day, there was no road to my school. Flood debris had accumulated at the entrance of our school. Part of the place was submerged by the flood.

Pray for the speedy construction of our road, please. Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my post as well
