Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 111: I Will Never Ever
Hello, great steemians from Steem4nigeria community. I greet you, all. This is my first time of competing in this contest. I like competition because it gives me an opportunity to learn from others as well. Thank you, @steem4nigeria for this week Accelerator Contest on 'Never Ever.' Stay tuned and read my post as I will take you through my experience as regard this topic.

What does the phrase "never ever" mean?
"Never ever" is an emphatic stress on a particular statement. It is used to emphasize or stres that something is not going to happen again. For instance, if I say, I will never meet him again, it means I am totally or completely done with meeting him, no question asked. It is used for extra emphasis to show a complete decision not to indulge or do something again.
What is one thing you promised yourself never to do again in this life?
Share an experience that led to your making that statement.
Two years ago, that was in 2023, I innocently signed an agreement as a surety for someone I knew very well. It turned out to affect me negatively. I had earlier told him that although I know him as my friend, I don't like being a guarantor for someone. My friend, Stephen had an awaited employment in a company that pays well. But he needed a guarantor to guarantee his good behavior before he could get employed in the company.
At first I turned down his request for me to sign his form as a guarantor. After much persuasion, I gave in. He was excited that my signature had given him the job.
It wasn't up to 2 years in the company that unfortunate situation struck. I was at work place, when I was told, two men were looking for me at the gate. I left the classroom I was teaching, very innocent, to meet my guests at the gate. On arrival, I discovered that one of them was a policeman, who demanded that I accompany them to the police station for interrogation. It was strange to me because I have never been to a police station before. When I requested to know why, they asked me if I had signed an agreement for one Mr. Stephen, that he is in the police net for stealing the company's property worth big money. I was dumbfounded. I had to follow them to the station.
On arrival at the station, I met Stephen, who confessed that he had stolen the company's property but that I am innocent. The police believed, as a guarantor, I must have known him to be a person of questionable character. They wanted to detain me as a suspect but God sent me help.
As I was still standing with them, trying to defend myself, a senior police officer, my secondary school friend we had been together in a particular school came looking for a Junior police officer right there. When he saw me, he asked why I came to the station. I narrated what happened. He ordered that I should be allowed to go home because he had known me for years that I was not a bad or a dubious person. That was how I was freed. I don't know what would have happened to me. So after this ugly experience, I vowed never to sign an agreement as a guarantor for someone again in this life.
If I had an opportunity to change one thing in my past, that would be sympathy. I had been so sympathetic to people. I easily give in when I see people persuade me or feel vulnerable. I can't have the heart to turn them.down. Maybe that was why I almost get myself into trouble if not that God sent me help. Sometimes, it's not good to be too nice to people no matter your relationship with them. You can never know a man's heart.

Thank you for reading my post. Keep steeming.
