Now, What Next?
What's the most exciting "What Next?" you're
looking forward to right now?
It's obviously a better shop, a machine and my own apartment! Since I finished learning my printing job, I had to team up with some colleagues to share a space in one shop while we contributed money for rent.
Secondly, my apartment needs an upgrade and so I need to move out to stay all alone because I need my privacy. Thirdly, the machine I had got spoilt and so I need a replacement asap.
So right now on my “what's next list” are the afore mentioned above. I love planning and putting my plans down to writing so that I follow as needed. There are needs that comes first before others and so my list carries it accordingly.
What's a "What Next?" that feels a little scary to you, and why?
From my list above, I felt scared when I decided to leave my colleagues to get my own place of work. I'd thought of the rent, the bills, the privileges and others but I kept reminding myself that I need my space and I need to focus on my work.
Having a shop of 2 Million Naira all to myself feels heavy, but splitting the bills with others feels lighter. I just know that I will find a way around it.
Have you ever had a "What Next?" moment that completely changed your life?
Yes, when I rounded up my secondary school, I went ahead to learn printing because I wasn't opportune for school. Learning something productive was my “what next” and I ventured into it without stress or regrets.
Today, I am more successful than before and I don't regret my steps, rather I appreciate them. I may not have been where I thought to be, but I will get there soon. I love that I am not where I used to be.
How do you usually decide "What Next?" when you have a lot of options?
I go for the most important. In my options, there must be the first which I must go with and when it doesn't work, I try the second and third until I get it right.
For example; In my business, I am the manager and CEO so I decide what happens and does not. There was a day I thought of promoting my business online but in my options I'd listed;
• Run facebook ads
• Print complementary cards
• Make a bill board
• Use newspaper and radio publication
Since all these options are to promote my business I just followed option B which would cost me less and save more time.
What's one thing you'd like to try that you haven't done before?
Selling coin in the crypto market. I have never done this and I would love to do it to gain first time experience. I don't even know what a crypto market looks like but recently, I've asked my mentor to show me some basics.
I love learning new things and that is it.
