For this activity I have chosen a very popular, emotional and heart touching movie Hum Saath Saath Hain. This film may have been released many years ago, but its way of presenting family values ​​is still fresh, educative and heart touching. What stood out most about the director’s style or storytelling?

When I watched Hum Saath Saath Hain again, what impressed me the most was director Sooraj Barjatya s storytelling style.It is the hallmark of his films.Family, relationships, values, sacrifice, love and unity, this film is also woven with these elements. In most of the films we see only one hero or heroine as the main character. But in this film the entire family is the main character. Every member has his own role. Have your feelings. It's your story. But all are tied by a single thread. It is a great skill of the director that despite so many characters, the story feels very clear and cohesive. There is neither violence, nor vulgarity, nor complex politics in his story. Despite this the film keeps holding you.Because his storytelling comes from the heart. In between the stories there are festivals, weddings, rituals, singing and playing. All this makes the film a celebration. Every scene is beautifully executed. Due to which the viewer feels himself a part of the same house. There are many places where the feeling of family is reflected without any heavy dialogue. Like love of brothers, dilemma of mother, responsibility of father, bond of daughters-in-law etc. This subtle emotional touch is the director's great strength.

Hum Saath Saath Hain is a very polished film.Every frame, every colour, every background, every festival, everything is full of beauty.The set design was very gorgeous and colourful. The cinematography is clean, bright and full of excitement.The costumes were perfectly coordinated. smooth camera movement and Music that elevates the scenes.All this shows that the film has been made very thoughtfully and this is the meticulous work of the director.

🔹What effect did this have on the experience?

The polished presentation made the film feel-good, grand and warm.While watching the film, it feels as if we are sitting among a big Indian family. Celebrating festivals with them and feeling the sweetness of relationships with them. Had this film been raw, perhaps its charm and positivity would not have seemed so bright. Its polished execution made it a family celebration-like experience.

Would you watch more movies by this director? Why or why not?

Yes I would always like to watch Sooraj Barjatya's films because there is no negativity in his films. In today's times, violence, darkness and tension have increased in films. Whereas Barjatya's films bring alive peace, happiness and emotions. He beautifully shows the positivity of the Indian family. In his films, the importance of values, family, tradition, love, relationships, all these are shown in a very respectful and energetic form. His storytelling soothes the soul. These are the films that you can watch with the whole family. And feel something new every time. His stories tell the truth of life, what relationships are and how they are maintained and how families support each other. That's why it is always a pleasure to watch his direction.

What message or theme did you take away from the movie?

Hum Saath Saath Hain gives many big and important messages.Family unity is the greatest strength. Misunderstandings can happen in any home.But love,trust and communication bind relationships. Living together is the greatest happiness in life.Money,respect, career all have importance but when family is together.Only then a home is built.The film tells that a family is not built only on happiness but on understanding, giving priority to each other and responsibility.There is a little distance in the story. But in the end everyone understands that relationships are based on emotions and not on ego. In Indian homes,eating together celebrating festivals,giving respect.These are not just rituals but bonds.These messages are as relevant today as they were at the time of the film s release.
