SC-S28/W1-Movie Highlights|First-Time Feels "Lady Bird"
I am happy to participate in the 1st week of Steemit Challenge season 28. Thank you @ruthjoe for giving this opportunity to us. It was a great feeling watching movies.
Watch a directorial debut or a breakout film.Example films: Get Out (Jordan Peele), Lady Bird (Greta Gerwig), District 9 (Neill Blomkamp)
Today I watched Greta Gerwig's "Lady Bird" movie. This movie was released in 2017. It is a woman-centric movie so I decided to watch this movie and I felt really great after watching it at that moment. This movie is completely different and wonderful than other woman-centric movies. The movie is mainly based on the complex relationship between mother and daughter, the struggle of growing up, the struggle to find one's identity and the journey from a small town to a big dream. To know more about the movie, you can also check out this Wikipedia information. Here is the official trailer of this movie.
What stood out most about the director’s style or storytelling?
Greta Gerwig's storytelling style is incredibly natural, sensitive and human. What attracted me the most was her lack of exaggerated storytelling. There was no extra drama in this movie, but she showed the small things in life in a big way. Another wonderful thing she was able to portray in this movie is the depth of the mother-daughter relationship. There is no comparison to the relationship with a mother in the world. She showed this relationship to be sometimes full of love, sometimes covered in temporary distance, and sometimes trapped in misunderstandings. She also created real characters in this movie where all the characters felt alive, especially Lady Bug and her mother, people can easily relate to them. Such sincere storytelling skills are rarely seen and it is very admirable.
Did the film feel polished or raw? How did that impact your experience?
This movie felt raw to me and it felt like a real movie without any exaggeration. It felt like a memory taken from real people's lives to me. However, there were some things in the movie that were very polished, such as its cinematography, dialogues, and editing. I'm not a very good movie analyst, so I can't answer this perfectly. this movie impact my experience deeply. I felt like Lady Bird's feelings were real, along with the feelings of her parents. Family crises, economic crises, how important it is for a parent to guide their children properly is explained here, and because of the emphasis on small emotions here, I related it very much to my experience. Mother-daughter fights, mistakes, disappointments—all of them are very real. These happen to us in real life. We often make mistakes and get disappointed. Also, I think Lady Bird's immature decisions are real experiences of adolescence.
Would you watch more movies by this director? Why or why not?
Of course I want to see more movies by this director. She can create vivid emotions in the characters. As far as I know Ladybird is the first movie she directed and although it is a very simple story, it has a deep meaning that not everyone can portray in a movie. By the way, I know the names of some of his other movies (Little Women and Barbie) which I haven't seen yet but I hope to see them soon.
What message or theme did you take away from the movie?
This is a very good question and I am very interested in answering it. Below I am mentioning the message that I got from the movie by pointing it out.
- Teenager means making some mistakes, learning something new and forgetting those mistakes and trying again.
- Even if there is a temporary misunderstanding between a mother and daughter, there is true love within each other.
- Understanding your roots and family is one of the most important steps in growing up.
- Trying hard is essential to establish our dreams.
I am inviting my friends @sohanurrahman @jahangeerkhanday and @pathanapsana to have a look on this challenge.

Welcome to steemit challenge season 28.
Thank you for participating in movie Highlights week 1. Below are details of your post evaluation.
The movie Lady Bird is indeed a directorate debut for Greta Gerwig. Even though she has collaborated with others to produce movies, this was her first ever movie she directed alone. I think she did great!
