My Diary Post - A 4AM Wake-Up Call, Kitchen Wins & Champions League Drama 18/03/2026

Hello everyone 👋

Hope you’re all doing well today. Mine started in a way I honestly wouldn’t wish on anyone… especially not on a peaceful night.

So imagine this — you’re deep in sleep, everything quiet, your dreams just getting interesting… then suddenly, your phone starts ringing.

By past 4am.

Who calls someone at that hour??

I heard it on the second ring and immediately woke up, confused and slightly annoyed. I picked up, hoping maybe it was something urgent… something important… something that justified waking a human being at that time.

But no.

What I was told on that call?
Let’s just say it was not worth disturbing my sleep over

After that, I had to struggle my way back into sleep, which didn’t come easily. Eventually, around past 5am, I managed to drift off again.

Fast forward to the morning — or should I say late morning.

I woke up around 10am, still feeling a bit off from the interrupted sleep. No time to waste though, I went straight into action — bathroom, brushing, bathing, getting dressed — quick and sharp.

Not long after, I followed my brother out. He needed me to accompany him somewhere. The plan was to meet someone important, but as life would have it… things didn’t go as expected.

We got there, waited, and instead met the secretary.

And the secretary? Couldn’t reach the boss. Couldn’t help. Couldn’t do anything.

At that point, we just looked at each other like, “So why exactly did we come here again?”

Nothing to do, we simply turned back and headed home.

Now this is where the day started getting better — food time 🍽️

I decided to prepare something proper:
Spaghetti, fried plantain, and fried goat meat.

Cooking always has a way of resetting my mood. From boiling the spaghetti, to frying the plantain till it turned that perfect golden color, to the goat meat sizzling in the oil… everything just came together nicely.

And when the food was finally ready?

Let’s just say it was worth every minute.

The evening came with something even more interesting —
Champions League Night

Omo, today’s matches were something else and it started off with;

Barcelona vs Newcastle.

After the first leg ended 1–1, it looked like Newcastle had a chance. In fact, they showed real strength in that first leg. But in the second leg? Different story entirely.

Barcelona stepped up and completely took over, especially in the second half. That was where the real damage happened.

Liverpool vs Galatasaray

Liverpool came out with a serious statement performance. From start to finish, it was dominance — control, confidence, and finishing. A proper Champions League display.

Bayern Munich vs Atalanta

Bayern Munich’s match? That one was more like a formality. After what happened in the first leg, everyone already knew Atalanta didn’t really stand a chance at the Allianz Arena. Bayern simply came in, did what they had to do, and moved on.

Tottenham vs Atletico Madrid

Though Tottenham won tonight, they still lost and didn't progress as the had lost the first leg.

By the end of the night, most of the English teams were sent packing. Only Liverpool and Arsenal managed to survive and move to the next stage.

As someone who enjoys a little bit of football banter, I won’t lie… it was interesting to watch

Of course, the night couldn’t end without our usual PES battle.

Today, my brother came with revenge in mind. And to be fair, he actually won most of the matches.

But me?

I made sure I didn’t go down quietly.

At some point, I delivered another heavy result — 7–0.

Yes… 7 😄

So even though he won more games overall, I made sure to leave a reminder that I’m still very capable of causing damage.

All in all, today had a bit of everything —
Annoyance, movement, food, football, and competition.

From being woken up at 4am for no good reason, to cooking a solid meal, to enjoying Champions League drama, and ending the night with gaming… it turned out to be a full and interesting day after all.

Honestly, not bad for a day that started with anger and confusion 😅
