An Act of Kindness I will Never Forget

Hello friends!!
Kindness always has a way of putting a smile on the faces of someone
What was the act of kindness you experienced or witnessed? |
|---|
Let me share with you the kindness I experienced. Some years back when I just moved into the city of Lagos not knowing my left from my right. I needed an accommodation.
Let me explain this to you, Lagos is a big city in Nigeria and from observation, there are more homeless people in lagos than those who have a home. I moved into lagos staying with my boss but I couldn't stay there for long, I just needed to leave there, at that time I have not even saved up enough money to rent an apartment.
I wasn't sleeping well at all because of the accommodation issue I was having, there were times I slept outside in unilag. There were times I was really stranded and then suddenly one day I received a call to from a senior colleague to come over at her place for visit. When I arrived, I was welcomed with a delicious meal, after eating she began asking me about my accommodation. After narrating my story, she told me to continue staying with her .
This was the best news so far. First, where I was managing was so far that I spend so much if I need to navigate around Lagos. Then if there is traffic, it takes me at least 7 hours to get home. But this time I was asked to come live at the heart of the city Ikeja to be precised. I couldn't not contain my joy. I didn't even bother go home to get my things, some one brought it after 3 months.
This lady fed me daily, clothed me and housed me for many months. She took care of me as if I was her daughter without complaining for one day. I felt really at home living with her. Her kindness brought joy to me and changed my life forever!
Who showed you this kindness? |
|---|
The person who showed me this kindness was a senior colleague in 2019. I lived with her from April 2019- 2020. I won't forget this art of kindness. It was shown to me at a time when I needed help dearly and in a city where no body send you o.
When and where did it happen? |
|---|
It happened in year 2019 in the city of Lagos Nigeria. Back then I just moved into that city not knowing what life holds for me. I came into that city having my clothes and faith, no money at all. I guess faith was the currency I needed and it sure helped me a lot. Today life feels different!
How did it affect you emotionally, mentally, financially, or spiritually? |
|---|
That show of kindness affected me so much, I wondered how a person could be that kind to render such kind of help to me in a time where I felt abandoned and helpless.
That gesture made me believe more in God, that God is intentional about me and won't allow harm to come to me, it also made me believe that prayer works.
Financially, it helped me because I was able to push myself to get jobs to do, save up some money for my accommodation too.
Did this experience inspire you to be kinder to others? Explain |
|---|
Yes it did o, it opened me up to be more kinder even the world is full of ungrateful people. I realized that people's ungratefulness should not be my business, I should just be kind. Render help when I can and leave the reward to God.
People need to be more kinder this days because a lot is going on in this time we live in and it is only our kindness to them that can make them more relaxed and strengthen them to face whatever challenge they are going through.
Kindness makes the world go round because kindness in its self is an expression of love.
