What does it mean to be "true to yourself"?

In my opinion, to be true to yourself simply means to live your life based on the principles you preach. This simply means to when you tell people don't steal, make sure you are not stealing. If you actions doesn't portray what you say then it means you are not been true to yourself .

To be true to yourself also has to do with been faithful to your words too, when you say you will do something, do it.

I have seen many people who pretend to be what they are not. Most of the time I find them criticizing people for what they themselves do.

Once I was in a company of people and there was this particular guy that kept feeling he was better than ever body. He carries himself in a very prideful way. You needed to see how he talks, I own this, I don't do this, I have this and that. My house is the most neatest place to be.

One day we didn't see him in our meeting and we decided to trace him to his house. We didn't believe our eyes that very day. He lives in a very dirty ghetto. When the neighbors pointed at his room we were shocked to our bones. His room looked like where rat race was done.

He was shocked to see us, he wasn't expecting us. It dawned on us that this guy has not been true to himself.

Why is it important for people to keep their promises?

Our words are our bond. Our words tells the kind of persons we are. Therefore when we make promises, it is important to keep them because it shows how trust worthy we can be. People rarely trust those who don't keep their promises.

It is important for people to keep their promises because it shows accountability. If you can't keep your promises, it shows you can't be held accountable.

It is also important to keep to your promises because it qualifies you for more opportunities. Imagine that you asked me to lend you money that you will pay back on so and so date and on that said date you actually paid me back. I will trust you to help you next time when you ask for help which is creating more opportunities for you.

What's the difference between being honest and being nice?

They are two different things. Someone can be nice but not honest. And someone can be honest and also not nice.

To be honest is to be sincere. Someone who always tells the truth is a sincere person.

To be nice has to do with kindness. Rendering help to people is been nice.

Not all honest people are nice and not all nice people are honest but it is possible to find people who are honest and nice .

If your friend asked you to lie for them to get out of trouble, would you do it? Why or why not?

Oh I found myself lied because of my friend. So it's no longer new to me. If my friend ask me to lie for them to get out of trouble I would gladly do it as long as I trust that what they did was a mistake and not an intentional act.

I definitely know that the act of lying is not good, even the Bible is against it yes. But if I need to do it to save the life of my friends why not? But before I do it I would ask some questions making sure they don't repeat such things again.
