Hello friends
Do you believe there is No free thing anywhere? Support your answers with claims |
|---|
Yes I believe that there is no free thing anywhere. Every thing you see that is free was paid for by someone else without your knowledge and given to you.
For instance lets look at salvation in Christianity. It's so easy to be saved and it seems free too. All you need to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is lord and he died for you, then confess it with your mouth and you are saved. Simple right? That's all it takes to be a child of God, I mean to move into the kingdom of God.
Guess what? As simple as salvation is, there a someone that paid the price so we can have it for free. He paid with his blood. He had to die. God made an ultimate sacrifice by sending his son to die on the cross, he gave his only son so that he can have many sons.
Jesus on the other hand obeyed and came to die. So looking closely at it, salvation from God's end is not free but from our end it is free.
We also have another example using the Rhapsody of realities devotional by Pst Chris oyakilome of Christ Embassy Church. This devotional is shared to people monthly for free but guess what? There are men and women who put their lives in line to make sure that you have it for free. They pay heavily for it. From your end it's free, but from their end it's not free. Nothing really is free!
Do you think people actually pay indirectly for any free give they get from anyone? |

|---|
Yes sometimes this is true. People actually pay indirectly for the free gifts they receive without them knowing.
Let me share a story with you. There was this guy in my area back then when I was growing up. At the end of each week, he comes back from work bearing gifts for we the children around the neighborhood.
He would buy things like sweet, biscuits, yogurt and toys and call all the kids to share it. We loved him because we received free things from him every week. Although I and my siblings was never a part of it because our mum already warned us about taking things from people.
After a while he was a having a conversation in his language with someone over the phone and didn't know that a particular man understood that language. From his conversation, he was telling the person on the other side of the phone that he always keeps to his bargain of making sure the kids in the neighborhood gets free gifts and that the person should also keep to his bargain of making sure his money keeps coming.
That was the last time many kids collected things from him especially the ones that their parents heard about that particular conversation. So the kids were paying indirectly and didn't know.
Do you believe there are folks out there giving out stuff without strings attached? |
|---|
Yes it's possible for folks out there to give out stuff without strings attached but it's very rare to see that especially in this time we live in.
For example I can give out something to any one I please without strings attached. So if I can then there are people like me in the society even though they are rare.
Summarize for us your general view about giving and receiving free things |
|---|
General view is that there is no thing as free. Every thing giving to you was paid for or you paid for it indirectly.
So beautiful careful when you are told something is free. Try to understand how that thing got to you for free before you leap to avoid stories that touches the heart.
I think if you can not afford something, there is no need seeking for it to be given for free because they maybe some hidden agenda. Personally I don't always accept free things. But I know there is something called favour and it can make someone give to you without you asking.

Great piece!
Free gifts are expensive gifts; beware!
The gift of salvation, though it seems simple, is the most expensive gift on earth.
Every free gift must be received carefully. Inasmuch as favour exists, it is wise for the receiver to be discerning enough to understand the intention of the giver before accepting free gifts.
Lastly, I have come to understand that free givers, those who give without ulterior motives, are great receivers.
