Hello friends !!

Who is the most important person in your life? Tell us about the person and your relationship with them

This question is deep seriously because answering it before people may result to conflict. I would have mentioned the name of somebody but for privacy sake I would leave it.

I would have also said God but guess what he is not a person. He is a spirit in his own class so yeah the most important person for me right now would be my parents!

My parents are my father and mother. They brought me into existence. I owe my life to them. They gave birth to me, nurtured me, cared for me and watched me grow. That's a lot of sacrifice.

My relationship with my parents has been cool until lately, although am working on it though. But growing up with my parents was fun, we had bad days, good days and fun days.

My parents where my first teachers, my first pastors too. My mum taught me spiritual things more like how to pray, while my Dad thought me academics. There was a balance. I was my Dad's favorite person in the house. So they called me Daddy's girl.

I followed my Dad every where he went to, we are together and even slept on the same bed. At some point my mum got jealous and started chasing me out from their room. Hahah

Oh my! My parents are so important to me beyond words. Their investments and sacrifices to see that my life worked is remarkable.

I saw how my mum deprived her self of some flamboyant lifestyle just to save up and do some things for us, mind you my Dad is a father indeed. My Daddy single handedly trained all his children without demanding support from his wife or relatives unlike so many men do to their wives. He enjoyed carrying the responsibilities.

I saw how my mum had to resign from the hospital where she worked to take care of us. She became a trader so that she can have time for her children. She gave up her career for us! That's huge!

My parents are gift to me and I will forever be grateful to them. I will do my best to take care of them now that they are aging.

My mum is the calm one while my Dad is the outspoken one. Guess what I have never seen my parents argue or quarrel in all my time of living with them. This is not to say they never had their issues but I don't know how they always find a safe place to settle it.

My mum is patience and great financial manager! She is beautiful kind, soft and so emotional. Once I saw her hit her legs on the chair and hurts her and she started crying. I joined her in the cry. I think that we're I took my cry cry nature.

Can you share a memorable experience you had with this person? It could be a moment when they supported you, inspired you, or helped you during a difficult time

I have had many memorable experiences with my parents. So which of them do I want to talk about now?

One time I was when crisis broke out in the state where we were living at that time, because we lived in the northern part of Nigeria.

For it was a serious one that we didn't see our mother for 4 days. She went to the market that blessed morning to trade as usual while my Dad went to work and we the kids went to school.

All of a sudden fire everywhere, killings and shooting, we found our way back home from school, same is my Dad he came back home but my mum wasn't home yet, fear gripped us because they market where she sold her goods was a major market and the heat of the fight.

My Dad started making calls and reaching out to people if they have found my mum but no one did. We were tensed, for days we could not sleep or eat. We kept crying and praying. We saw dead bodies in many streets, homes and properties destroyed. It was a lot and all of a sudden one morning we saw my mum returning home, someone called our attention that our mum was coming, we ran out to meet her.

The joy on our faces that day as we hugged her tight was amazing. She was so happy to see us. I could see my Dad so excited that his wife is back for good. Tears of Joy rolled down our cheeks, we brought her home. My Dad prepared a special meal for my mum, prepared a warm water bath for her and she had her bath, ate and slept.

When she woke up tat evening we came to her with our questions of what happened, where has she been and all. It was so good to see our complete family again.. many lost their loved ones in that crisis.

What valuable lesson have you learned from this person?

There are valuable lessons I have leant from my parents.

  • Independence :

my parents taught me this first hand, they don't want us to depend on people for our needs this was why they didn't seek any help from their own siblings to train us. They showed us we can work for our own money.

  • Spiritual things

My parents patterned my spiritual faith to me. I saw how my parents loved themselves, showed kindness to people and served God in church. I saw how they made sure we didn't miss service days, teaching us the ways of God. Leant how to pray from home. I remember the first time I prayed that my Dad buys a car and God answered my prayers.

  • Loveland hospitality

Children learn more from observation than from what you say. From observation I saw my parents model love and hospitality. We saw how my parents housed his siblings and cousins in our house, training them in school and skills. These people were majorly related to my Dad and my mom didn't have issues with that. It was a large loving home until we began to grow and my Dad had to establish them to leave our home. Today I have an open heart because of this. One time a friend of mine told me that if I continue with such heart that many will deal with me. I had to put some boundaries so that I won't be used.

If you had the chance to say something special to this person today, what would it be?

If I had the chance to say something special to my parents I think I would love to say through a poem.

Crafted with diamonds
Designed for nature's
Praise ..
Yet went low just for me

Stitching my imperfection
So that I could fit in to
Make a difference

You were patience
With discipline
Sparing not the rod
But in a loving way

Bringing a childish me
Into a finished woman
Presented with crown
To seat on a thrown

To you I say my most profound
Words..You are the most important
Person in my life..
Birthing me is loving you
Forever!
