Hello friends!!

To be different it's a lot of work

What does it mean to "Dare To Be Different"

From my opinion,To dare to be different simply means making efforts to stand out from the norms or normal order of things.

It is to refuse to compromise your standards even when it seems like everyone is doing it. For instance in the area of relationship, you can dare to be different. You can decide or make a decision not to get involved sexual until marriage.

The above mentioned is not a common practice, when you do that, people will see you differently, some may even call you names like mother mary and all those mockery names but you won't be moved because what you are doing is the right thing.

Have you ever dared to be different? If yes, share with us your experience?

Yes I have dared to be different many times so I don't know which of the stories to share with you right now.

All through my university days, I dared to be different in many areas. First I didn't have a boyfriend in my university days from year 1 to final year. Funny right? Yes!

I went to a hit school where immorality, fashion and show biz was the order of the day. I lived with ladies who we called "la babi la hot". They had friends come over every weekend from other schools and together they go out clubbing and prostituting. I stood out. I never joined them, infact I left that room in my 200L.

I didn't want to have a boyfriend because I wasn't ready to awaken love before it's time. Why have a lover when you are not ready for marriage!

Sometimes I was mocked for keeping myself, but I loved my decision, it made me free from unnecessary attachments and heart breaks that was prevalent at that time. I devoted my time, energy and resources to God and to his works.

The male friends around me were really astonished at my decision, I earned their respect and honour.

Back then, my bad room mates will mock me, call me strange names, laugh at me just to pressure me to join them but no I refused infact I won one of them over to my side, she stopped following them and became dedicated to God.

Did you maintain your stand to the end by being different or you joined others eventually?

From my story above. I maintained my stand till the end. I graduated from that school with my heart intact, no record of a heart break and no record of me giving my heart to a boy or a lover.

I was proud of myself and I know God was proud of me. Even some lectures tried and failed because I stood my ground because God helped me. Not by my power or might!

There were some people who felt I would give in when I get to 300l or 400l but I never gave them the last laugh. I stood my ground by the hell of God.

Do you think daring to be different is always worth it?

Yes it is !

Daring to be different till the end even gives you a form of confidence that no one would have given to you.

In my case I was so excited that I finished well spending 5 years in the university without having a lover was a big achievement for me so it's worth it.

I left intact! With my mind and soul and a beautiful result, no carry over from year 1 to final year because I was focused, Not distracted but with direction! Such a beautiful experience

There were many of those ladies who couldn't graduate, so much carry overs, some had an extra year while some even died.

So yes it worth it to dare to be different. .
