If you were given full authority for one year in your community or country, what is the first issue you would address?

Getting authority and using that authority successfully is not the same thing. Many people in our country have a lot of authority but do not use it very often. Due to this, the transformation of our society does not happen very often.

As a citizen of the country, it is a duty to wish for the welfare of the country. At the same time, if you have a role as a social worker, it is definitely a matter of pride.

Since childhood, I have wanted to be involved as a social worker. But I have never had the opportunity to express my thoughts. Although I am involved in two small organizations and occasionally play the role of a social servant, that is also insufficient.

Today, respected teacher @ninapenda ma’am has allowed me to express the desires hidden in my mind. For that, I thank her again. If I am given full authority to do any work for a year, I would like to take on the responsibility of a social worker.

Only a social worker can remove all the negative aspects of society and make it beautiful and smooth. A social worker has many responsibilities and duties in society. This responsibility increases and decreases due to the environmental situation. If I get the responsibility of a social worker, the first responsibility I will give importance to is to say no to drugs in society. Drug use leads many people to destruction. Many families have been ruined by drug addiction, and the youth society is on the verge of destruction. I believe that if drugs can be removed from society, society will become much healthier. So, my first responsibility as a social worker is to eliminate drugs.

Why did you choose this issue over others?

I know that any profession is great in society. The profession of a social worker is also a great profession. Only a social worker can tell what inconsistencies exist in society. A social worker is directly involved in different levels of society. They walk up to the root level of society. As a result, only a social worker can tell what inconsistencies exist there.

Now the question is, why did I select the profession of a social worker over other great professions? The answer is very simple for me. I saw my father in the role of a social worker. I know the reasons why a society is heading towards destruction day by day. I know how superstition, illiteracy, lack of human values , and drugs are destroying society. And I also have an idea that this destruction is accelerating.

As a conscientious person, my duty is to protect society, the people of society, especially the youth, from these destructive activities. This is my moral responsibility. As soon as I feel that responsibility, I want to take on the responsibility of a social worker.

Another reason for taking on the responsibility of a social worker is that I am a father. I have two children. They are growing up in this society. If the social system is good, the children will also develop well. And if immorality increases in society, the children will also fear prejudice and destruction. Which I do not wish as a father.

I want to take on the responsibility of a social worker by prioritizing the best future of my children and the welfare of society.

What is that one difficult decision you would have to make?

As a social worker, I will have the desire to work together with people from all walks of life. I will eliminate all the irregularities and prejudices in society. But I will give the most importance to eliminating drugs. I will be forced to make difficult decisions to eliminate drugs. Because I know that drugs, drug use, and drug trafficking are the causes of much destruction in society, if we can eliminate them, society will become much healthier.

While doing this work, I will try to explain to both the drug users and the drug dealers. I will present its harmful aspects. I will raise awareness through meetings, seminars, and marketing, but if that does not work, I will hand them over to the law. In this case, I will not make any concessions. Even if my children are involved in this work, they will still be judged the same. I will remain steadfast on this issue and fulfill my responsibility.

How would you explain this decision to people who disagree with you?

When doing any good work, there will be some obstacles, and the complexity of completing the work will also increase. For example, I know that if I work against drugs, I will have to fight against many people. There will be a lot of efforts to disrupt my work. But I will do my work with a firm commitment.

I will try to explain the ill effects of drugs by calling those who hinder me or stand against me. I will request them to understand how much damage the drug society causes to families and children, and refrain from doing it.

I will try to bring those who are already addicted to drugs onto the right path through various councils. I will try to find alternative jobs for those who supply drugs. If even then it does not work, then the only way is the law. I will hand them over to the administration.

I believe that everyone will accept the steps that I will take to build a healthy society. We can work together hand in hand and build a beautiful society as social workers.

I invite three of my friends to join the challenge

Hi @shahid76, welcome to thinking and ideas week 1

My Observation:

Eliminating drugs won't be so easy because there are still top politicians and some government officials who sponsor these drugs, I see them fight tooth and nail for this.

I hope you get to win at the end.

I find it really interesting that you would rather be a social worker than a president or king... But still: do you really believe that drugs can be effectively banned or eliminated? The fact that the urge to get high can be observed in absolutely every society, and consequently also the abuse of the respective narcotics, speaks against this, doesn't it?

Dear, @weisser-rabe

Thank you very much for reading my post. I don't know how much I can do to cure drug addiction if I get the responsibility as a social worker, but I will try my best to expel this harmful element from society.
I know that eradicating drugs from society is a very difficult task. Many big gangs are involved in it. However, someone has to come forward to maintain a healthy society.
I believe that if I start, I will see that many more people like me will come forward to do this work. Then there is a possibility that eradicating drugs is possible with a joint effort.
That is why I decided to take this step.
