Dairy Game : 27/06/2023 - Fun Saturday

Hey Steem-Fam! How are you all doing? It's @sommybekes again. And this is my dairy game once again. But first here's a selfie of one of the highlights of my day.

You must be wondering how I ended up wearing a hat and dressed like that? Well this is my story. I woke up and just like every other day I did my chores and other stuff. The day was actually boring at first. But it was almost noon when our mother bought out a bag containing some of my father's old clothes. There was an ongoing festival in the city and every town in the city was doing something to celebrate the Obunem Epie festival. On Monday the women in my town would dress up as men to signify an important part of the celebration. So my mother was going to wear my dad's clothes. Everybody joined her in searching for what to wear and along the line we also dressed up as men in one of our father's traditional outfit.

We had a few laughs with the neighbors as we stepped out to take photos. Jokes and memories were shared among us until our mother finally found what she would wear on Monday. Now the story behind this festival was that there was a time when women had to protest and go to war against the police because there were unfair tax against women. Back then women were not to be taxed by the government. So when it was brought up the men fought against the police and the men were arrested and held captive. The women had to dress as men and protest to rescue their men. Both fathers, husbands and brothers.

This was one of the fun things of the day. Another fun thing that happened was getting the packages we had ordered from the global online market company Temu. After our dressing up fun, I and my sister proceeded to the Temu office to pick our package. After confirming the packages we headed home to show the rest of my siblings the contents of the packages as some of them ordered too.

Some of the things we got was not what we expected. It was a case of 'what I ordered 's what I got'. We had a good laugh about the whole thing and I was glad that my once boring day turned out great. After that I did other things, including reading a book on my phone. My day went well and I was glad I had fun with my siblings. Also the last picture is my best picture. Lol.
