SLC-S29 /W3- ‘‘Thinking and Ideas !| Seeing Problems Differently!’’
Hello dear all friends and steemians! Hope you all are well. I'm also doing well and happy with the blessings of Allah Almighty. Today I'm here with you with a new post to complete the challenge "SLC-S29 W3- Thinking and Ideas!" assigned by Mam @ninapenda. After reading this beautiful and creative challenge I like it the most from all challenges and now here to complete this with full power and efficiency.
Poor waste disposal is one of the daily issues in my society. Several individuals dispose waste materials along the roadways open areas, and drain pipes rather than depositing in the waste bins. The result of this type of behavior is pollution of the environment, unpleasant smell, clogged pipes, flooding during rainy seasons, and the transmission of diseases that pose a threat to the health of the population.
The issue has a direct and indirect impact on everybody. Poor environment distracts the attractiveness of the community and forms unhealthy living environments. Unhygienic environments are especially damaging to the health of children and therefore, this problem should be addressed with the highest level of concern.
- Some Solutions:
The education of the population is one of the significant actions toward resolving the issue of improper waste disposal. Humans must learn about the harm of littering and the goodness of ensuring their environments are clean.
The pretence can be created according to schools, community gatherings and media campaigns and local leaders. The other important action is to furnish adequate waste management facilities. The government and local authorities should make sure that, there are rubbish bins located in conspicuous areas and that garbage is taken off periodically.
Recycling is also something that should be promoted as well as sanitation laws which should be implemented such that individuals could be made responsible when it comes to waste disposal.
The reason why this problem still persists is that most individuals assume that waste management should only be the role of the government. This leads to the fact that people feel no personal responsibility of maintaining their environment clean. The factor of convenience is also involved since not all people take the right choice and opt to take the path of the least harm.
Also, there is leniency on the implementation of sanitation laws, thereby sustaining the vice. Individuals will not feel the need to change when they are not penalized when they litter. Poor use of waste collection services in certain places also compels people to dispose waste in undesignated ways.
The factor which is the most misinterpreted about this issue is that people feel that personal efforts cannot help. Individuals also believe that discarding a tiny bit of rubbish will not bring any issues, and unaware that there are severe impacts on the environment by performing these actions on a regular basis.
Such misunderstanding does not allow people to be responsible about their actions. The pattern of inappropriate waste disposal persists when people cannot find the relation between their actions and the bigger problem.
One mindset that I would modify is the notion that it is the duty of others to be clean. Most individuals believe that it is the responsibility of sanitation workers, or government to take care of the waste, and not them to ensure a clean environment.
The culture of making the environment clean is an act that I would promote. Knowing that what they do in their every-day activities counts, the people will be more responsible and will help in a healthier and cleaner society.
I would like to invite my friends like @sada02 @tammanna and @m-princesss
