SC-S28/W1-Movie Highlights|First-Time Feels | Toofan
Hello..!!
My Dear Friends,
I am @tanvirahammad10 from #Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Watch a directorial debut or a breakout film.
Example films: Get Out (Jordan Peele), Lady Bird (Greta Gerwig), District 9 (Neill Blomkamp)
The director's style in the movie "Toofan" is noticeable from the very beginning. Especially the way the mixture of action and emotion is arranged on the screen is eye-catching. One of the special features of director Shaheen Suman is the large-scale visualisation and portraying the character in a heroic manner. In this film too, he has portrayed Shakib Khan's character 'Toofan' in such a way that every emotion, every anger, every protest of the character hits the audience's mind.
The style of storytelling is also quite direct and fast-paced. There are no unnecessary scenes, every scene has some action, emotion, or twist in the story. Real problems of society, political tensions, personal struggles. Combining all this, the director has progressed the story in such a way that the audience is in a kind of excitement the whole time.
What stood out most about the director’s style or storytelling?
"Toofan" basically seems to be a mixture of smooth and raw. There is a kind of smoothness in the action scenes, camera movements and sound design. These were done in a very modern way, which seemed to be of international standard. Again, the emotions of the character, anger, revenge, the dark side of society, there is raw reality in these parts. Which made the movie more alive.
The combination of these two types of feelings influenced my experience even more. Due to the smoothness, there was no chance of fatigue or loss of attention in the eyes while watching the movie. And the scenes of emotions and reality like raw soil increased the depth of the story, which gave the movie not only entertainment, but also a place for thought.
Did the film feel polished or raw? How did that impact your experience?
Yes. Because the way the director can make the hero character stand strong on the big screen is rare in Bengali cinema. The pace of storytelling, the balance of emotions, the action direction, everything keeps the audience engaged. He can make a beautiful blend of reality and commercialism. As a result, the movie is not only made big, but also able to hit the audience's mind. One can also wait for his next movie to know what kind of stories this director chooses, how he highlights society or personal struggles.
Would you watch more movies by this director? Why or why not?
“Toofan” is basically a story of courage, struggle, revenge and standing against injustice. Watching the film, I felt how easily the lives of ordinary people can be disrupted by the power of powerful people in society. But if someone truly stands strong, then change is possible. The film shows that no matter how difficult a person’s past is, he can change his destiny if he wants to. Fighting for justice, humanity and his own dignity to the end is the central message of the film. And personally, I feel that protest is not silence against injustice, but real strength.
What message or theme did you take away from the movie?
“Toofan” is not just an action-thriller, it is an attempt to bring to the fore the inner strength of a person, the courage to stand against injustice and the darkness of society. The director’s pace, Shakib Khan’s performance, and the emotion of the story make the film undoubtedly powerful.
