‎Hello Steemians and fellow members of the Steem4Nigeria community, greetings to everyone.
‎I’m here to share my views on this topic for this week. I want to thank @steem4nigeria for organizing this wonderful contest. This will give me the opportunity to express all that was kept inside of me concerning this topic. Meanwhile I wanna use this opportunity to thank my lovely friend @peacemike for inviting me to participate in the contest. Thank you you Ufan Mmi.

In your understanding, kindly define "Experience".

‎Experience is a bit ambiguous, but in this context I would define it as a collection of events, activities, and situations from which an individual or group gathers knowledge, opinions, and skills.

‎In simpler terms and in my own words, experience is the lessons of life. It occurs after events and over time. We live by learning from our experiences on a regular basis. Each day adds something new to what we already know, and those lessons shape how we think and act.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement "Experience is the best teacher"? Defend your take.

‎To some extent, I agree that experience is a good teacher, but at some point it can also damage people. I will use myself as a case study. Experience has taught me not to trust people easily. I have been defrauded so many times by different individuals that now I find it hard to know who is genuine and who is a criminal. That kind of lesson came at a cost.

‎Experience makes us smart and more cautious. However, it is like the two faces of a coin. It is good and it is bad. At some point in life, I am glad to have certain experiences because they made me teachable and wiser. Now I can guide other people properly when the need for mentorship arises. So while experience hurts, it also equips us to help others avoid the same pain.

Is learning from mistakes faster or slower than learning from books or mentor? Share with us your thoughts

‎I prefer learning from books and mentors. Some experiences are not good. They can damage you emotionally, financially, or physically. Learning from your own mistakes is usually slower, and sometimes the damage is permanent.

‎Some things need to be learnt through books and mentorship because we have a short life. You cannot learn everything through personal experience alone. It is very important to also learn from other people’s experiences instead of trying to learn everything by yourself through painful trial and error.

How would you balance between learning by experience and listening to someone who has been there.

‎Like I mentioned earlier, it is not everything you should learn through your own experience if you want to avoid getting damaged.

‎You need to read books and ask questions from people who have gone through the journey you wish to undertake. That will make you smarter than someone who insists on learning everything from experience alone.

‎My take is this: do not always try to learn everything from experience if you want to live long, stay sane, and remain healthy. Mix personal experience with wisdom from books and mentors. That balance saves time, reduces pain, and helps you grow faster.

‎I like to use this opportunity to invite my friends to participate in the contest.
