In my community people are throwing away plastic carelessly which can be used for something useful. All this happened because of a lack of awareness and education which I would like to solve.

Choose a global or local problem (education, waste, traffic, unemployment, loneliness, etc.). Propose a simple, realistic solution that does not rely on advanced technology.

Global Problem: Waste

Solution:
Implement a community-based recycling and composting program. This is what I would do and it would involve me setting up designated collection points for recyclable plastics and organic waste, alongside simple educational campaigns to encourage proper sorting.

Schools or local volunteers can help manage the program, and residents can be encouraged to participate through awareness and small incentives like community rewards and recognition of the program.

The local community would benefit most, as the program would be designed to reduce pollution, improve cleanliness, and create a healthier environment. Also, local residents would gain awareness about waste reduction, and nearby land or water bodies would be protected from plastic pollution.

What possible challenges or limitations do you think your idea might face?

Possible challenges:

• Ensuring long-term commitment and community engagement can be difficult for me to achieve without ongoing support.

• Insufficient funding or resources to maintain or establish collection points and education efforts can be difficult.

• Lack of motivation or awareness among residents to participate can always be difficult.

• Limited access to proper transportation for collected waste to recycling centres can be difficult
