Cast away

 

When talking about movies there are many and because we, human all have different taste that makes many movies popular even some movie analysers say that the movie is rubbish still we often find that one or another was very much loved by public.

I wanted to highlight this movie because when I watched it just accidentally came across it because of being bored and actually needed to spend my time till evening but this movie completely changed my inner myself. It brought many different emotions, thoughts and I just could not stop thinking about what if it was me on that place and how I would do behave myself in such situation.

The movie is called “Cast away” produced by Robert Zemeckis, written by William Broyles Jr. with main character played by Tom Hanks and it was ordinary start about hectic everyday life of a person called Chuck who worked as FedEx productivity analyst and due to his great work he was called in different part of the world in the regional offices to solve their problem.

It was a Christmas time Chuck happy and busy with fulfilled life his girlfriend, work and family, he is happy and was planning his Christmas when he wanted to get engaged with his girlfriend but, here is a big “BUT” he is again asked by his office to fly to Malaysia to solve some problem, of course, he accepted it and took a plane. Unfortunately for Chuck it was a bad storm and plane crashed, the wrecks landed in water near the lonely island.

 

The points that moved me and also made me to think:
 

• Feeling lonely and isolated…
   

When new live in big cities and have many people, we never think that anything like could happen. We are safe if anything happens there are many services like police, firefighter, doctors and of course, we have food. We have internet, telephone and we could always be rescued.

This movie showed how lost we could be when we appear in such place without those things listed above. Our life is completely lost and often if a person will not catch up on himself and his mental state he might die.

In the movie at the end Chuck also needed someone to talk and he used a volleyball that once he grabbed with bloody hand and that appeared like a face so Chuck called it Wilson and it was his companion for 4 long years. I often think that it might be was a reason why Chuck was able to survive and did not become mad.

 

• Do try to solve the problem,,,

 

What I learnt for me that at the beginning we often sit and wait that someone come to rescue us, but times goes and nothing is happening. While time goes the person becomes dehydrated, weak and maybe will start to become confused too. That is why he should not loose precious time but try to solve problem. In the movie after 4 years Chuck decided to make a raft and after couple of attempt he manages to make it and leaves an island, unfortunately it was again storm and his “friend” Wilson or Volleyball is then blown away but storm and he lost his only friend. Luckily he was found shortly after and rescued

Loneliness is the most horrible condition and that is something that we, human could barely survive, because of the nature of human, we are social species. For me it is a conclusion, do not let y our family and friends alone.
