Hello my dear Steemians,

There are many movies that I can call my favourite movies but this one I watch every time when I feel sad, lonely or just when I want to have a nice evening. The movie is called “Terminal” I do not know if in any other languages it is maybe translated different way.

This movie is made by my favourite regisseur Steven Spielberg, who is known for his fantasy or Sci-Fi but this movie belong to tragicomedy. The movie was shown in 2004 and the first time it crowed the opening of Film festival in Venice. The movie had wonderful and talented actors Tom Hanks who played Viktor Navorski and Catherine Zeta-Jones who played Amelia Warren. Despite of that many other smaller roles are played so well and the actors also very well remained in our memory.

I will give you a small summary of the story.

The movies starts with Viktor who arrives to New York airport and is going to meet Jass Tenor saxophonist Benny Golson to get his autograph as it is a last signature that his father was collected and was not able to get because he died. Therefore, Viktor decided to fulfil the wish of his father.

Once Viktor arrived to NY airport, in his own country there was a change of government and power and while Viktor wanted to leave airport he was told that his Visa is not valid and he is not allowed to leave airport. Since then he was stuck in airport, because he also was not able to fly back to his country.

During the time Viktor, tried to do anything to learn English and also to earn some money. He also met a young Stewardess Amelia, who he fell in love.

He also learn few people who worked in airport and who became good friends with Victor. With time the home land of Viktor came to peace and he was able to fly back but he needed to get an autograph of Benny Golson, Amelia organised one day visa for Viktor who then managed to get an autograph and he completed the last wish of his father.

Explain how it impacts you?

There were few emotions that this movie raised in me:

  • I felt sorry for such people like Viktor who could be trapped between two countries and not able to get our of in this situation but it could be anything else in real life. There is no way to go, the person can not speak the language and can not explain what he wants to say and also he think.

  • While I was watching I was trying to think what I would do if I were on place of Viktor, where he tried to get a job. Also, if I thought that I would work as a shop salesman what should I do and how would I legally help to such stranded person. If I would have compassion with such person.

  • The love story between Viktor and Amelia, where despite of falling in love with each other but due to life circumstances they had to choose the way of their common sense and mind and not to follow their heart.

Throughout the movie I also had few moments of tears on my eyes.

What was your best scene

There are many great scene and I really love every single scene. The most romantic and remarkable one was the scene with Fountain. Over there Viktor invited Amelia for date on Airport, where he organised a little meal with the help of his new friends who worked in airport.

Viktor is very skilful handy man who works on construction, he saw not finished wall with plumbing work, he decided to do a present for Amelia and made the wall using different small pieces of tiles but also made the pipework done and made a fountain. That was running. Amelia was fascinated by the present. Also during this dinner Viktor explained what is in his little can, he told about his father and his hobby of collecting autograph, and that he is finishing the will of his father and going to get autograph of his father’s favourite Jass artist.

Here is a little trailer of the movie and if you are interested please take time and watch it.

Thank you for reading my post and I am glad that you also enjoyed the story. It is indeed very entertaining movie. Nowadays there are not many movies that is dedicated for the family watching. There is so much warmth and caring people who have compassion with Viktor and who supported him while he was in such difficult situation.

I also like that Viktor despite of being trapped in airport he remained kind and polite, he still respected people around him and was ready to come for help any time.

I can imagine that it will be not everyone who would be able to remain calm and not get into stress and depression. The whole atmosphere with happy end at the end is almost like a fairy tale. I hope that only such good moments will be happening in reality and not bad ends :)
