Retrogame Gaming Experience with a Steemian — The Swift Lord
Good evening, Steemit fam!
It’s Christmas day today, and I just thought of playing serious games with the Steemit Pong game, which I’ve decided to nickname Be Swift or You Are Dead. Today brought more than just Christmas cheer, it gave me a gaming experience that makes me laugh, strategise, and reflect.
What Can I Compare This Game To? |
|---|
I will compare Steemit pong game, or rather call it Be Swift or You Are Dead, or dancing with an impatient DJ. Imagine trying to keep up with a fast-paced beats, where every beat you miss will you cost you a life, and the crowd (your points) only cheers if you stay in sync with the beat. This game requires me to be agile and focus, because what's meant to be a simple setup turned to a test of reflex.
How Many Lives Do You Have, and How Do You Plan to Conserve Them? |
|---|
I started with 10 lives, a fact I embarrassingly didn’t notice until they dropped to 3! After I noticed that I'm losing lives, I’m down to planning mode. To conserve lives, I’ll slow my pace initially to master the ball’s movement, keeping my cursor steady and waiting for its bounces. I also take short breaks in between the games in order to avoid tiredness, to ensure that my hand and eye coordination is on point.
How Was the Initial Play of the Game? How Did You Start? |
|---|
My first play was like a comedy show. I was starring at the screen like a clueless player! I started the game, moving the controls without a clue. The ball was bouncing, and I was just looking, thinking it was all fun until I glanced up and saw my lives decreasing from 10 to 5 to 3. With only 10 points after that the lives dropped to 3, I had to pause, laugh at myself, and rethink my approach. It was a very rough start, but I learnt the lesson to always pay attention to details.
What Strategies Did You Use to Avoid Making the Ball Fall Off Your Bar? |
|---|
Once I realised that losing lives were at stake, I gripped my cursor like it was my lifeline. I focused on smooth movements, I made sure to tracked the ball’s path and adjusting my bar’s position very early. I keep my actions to catch every bounce. This shift turned my game around, helping me to increase my points.
How Did You Feel After Losing 2 Lives? |
|---|
Losing those first 2 lives had me rolling on the floor. I laughed at my own ignorance, finding it hilarious that I would be so carefree while the game silently punished me. It was such a lighthearted funny moment.
How Did You Feel After Losing 7 Lives? |
|---|
By the time I hit 7 lives lost out of 10, the mood shifted to devastation. I couldn’t believe how quickly I had squandered the points, the staring at the screen like, “How did this happen?” But with 3 lives left, I held it down, determined to take some points and learn from the mess.
How Did You Feel After You Lost All Your Lives? Did You Feel Dead or Conquered? |
|---|
When the final life vanished, I felt dead, especially after seeing my low point. If I had scored higher, maybe I would have felt conquered with pride, but with just 148 as my lowest, it was more like a flop.
What’s Your Lowest Score and Your Highest Score? |
|---|
My lowest score was a very low score of 149, a reminding me of my early chaos. My highest hit 492, a sweet victory after I got the hang of it, proving I could turn things around with focus.
What Big Mistake Did You Make While Playing? |
|---|
The biggest mistake I made is, I was not noticing I was losing lives until it was too late. Coupled with my initial lack of swiftness, I let too many balls slip, costing me a lot early on.
Why Did You Lose? |
|---|
My losses was from not being swift enough at first. By the time I focused, I held my own better, but that initial lag was my downfall.
Do You Think This Game Requires Focus and Swiftness? |
|---|
Absolutely! Someone needs focus to track the movement of the ball and swiftness to keep the ball in play.
