✓ Tell us why you chose that street or open market
Bou Bazar is a well-known vegetable market in the Dhaka area, where fresh vegetables and daily necessities are sold every day. Whenever I visit this market, I feel a certain vitality. The market gets crowded from early morning, farmers and wholesalers bring various types of vegetables, and buyers also start crowding in. Daily necessities are sold here every morning and afternoon. I have shown the location of the market through the Steem-atlas pin code below.
Almost all types of vegetables, including tomatoes, brinjals, potatoes, gourds, pumpkins, and greens, are available in this market. The prices are also relatively low, so the common people can easily buy the necessary things. The sellers talk to the buyers very sincerely, and there is an opportunity to bargain, which makes shopping more enjoyable. In addition, meat, chicken, and fish are sold in separate units. Numerous people shop in this market every day. All the necessary products of a family are available in this market.
Walking through the market, you can see the colorful scenery of vegetables all around you. Green vegetables, red tomatoes, and purple eggplants all combine to create a beautiful environment. Sometimes the smell of raw soil and the aroma of fresh vegetables make you feel good. The honking of the vendors adds to the beauty of the market.
✓ The price of the item you purchased from the street or the open market
I bought some vegetables from "Bou Bazar". The price of bitter gourd usually depends on the season and supply. Now, bitter gourd is more available, so the price is low, I buy it for about 60 taka or 9 steem per kg. The price of greens is comparatively lower. I usually buy a bunch of greens for 20 taka or 3 steem. If it is some good quality or special greens, the price is a little higher.
| Tomatoes | per kg | 80 Taka | 11 Steem |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sweet Pumpkin | per kg | 40 Taka | 6 Steem |
| Gourd | per pcs | 80 Taka | 11 Steem |
✓ Describe your shopping experience, including pricing, bargaining, and product quality
When I went to buy bitter gourd and greens from Bou Bazar Jurain. As soon as I entered the market, I was very happy to see the array of fresh vegetables all around. First, I went to the bitter gourd shop. The shopkeeper initially said 80 taka for 11 steem kg, but I started bargaining. After talking for a while, he agreed to give 8 steem for 60 taka. I felt very happy because I could buy it at a low price by bargaining.
Then I went to buy vegetables. Although the price of vegetables was 20 taka per bunch, the shopkeeper gave me 30 taka when I bought two bunches. Shopping in the market is a bit of fun because of this kind of bargaining opportunity. The vegetables were quite fresh in terms of quality. The bitter gourds were firm and green, and the vegetables also seemed to have been freshly picked. However, since it was an open market, there was a little dirt or mud in some places, which could be a bit of a problem. Then I went to the fish market and checked the prices of fish.
✓ In some places street or open markets usually cause traffic describe how busy the street or open market is
Bou Bazar Jurain is a very busy open market, especially during the morning and afternoon hours. Since the market is located on the side of the road, many shops are located on the road, which creates some problems for vehicular movement. Due to the combination of rickshaws, vans, small trucks, and pedestrians, there are often traffic jams.
The market is busiest in the morning when wholesale vegetables arrive. The unloading of goods from trucks, the crowd of buyers, and the setting up of shops all make the entire area very bustling. Then, in the afternoon, the crowd increases even more when people come to buy groceries for their homes.
✓ What is your advice to the street or open market sellers to improve business performance?
First, it is very important to always keep the quality of the product good. If you keep fresh and clean vegetables, buyers are more interested. Secondly, the prices should be fair and clear. If the price list can be kept in the store, then the confidence of the buyer increases, and unnecessary hassles are reduced.
In addition, it is also necessary not to take up too much space by occupying the road, which will reduce traffic congestion and make it easier to navigate the market. Thinking in a modern way, vendors can get more benefits if they accept mobile payments (such as bKash).

Review/Grading
Review:
The vegetable shop called "Bou Bazar" which you have visited sells a lot of vegetables and other perishable goods. One of the disadvantages of selling vegetables and perishable items is preservation and spoilage because such items are liable to spoil easily. Maintaining the quality of products prevents them from spoiling and lossing they values.
