I don't like thorns but they're necessary

I'm not going to grow thorns, I have no interest in watering them but the seeds of a Thorn can be in the same location where the sunflowers are. The intention is to grow the sunflowers, so I poor water at the spot. The water touches the ground and both the sunflower and the thorns get water.

The nutrients at that spot is shared by both. What happens after a while, the two plants grow. I wait till they're both matured and I remove the thorns to leave just the beautiful sunflowers.

Nature doesn't make moves randomly. What you see as a problem could actually be bringing in positive value. The thorns around the sunflowers will do the job of protection. Since the animals that can come and eat the sunflowers wouldn't want to walk through thorns, they let it be. The thorns were security for the sunflowers.

Such is life. There are somethings you wouldn't like but are necessary for your success and survival. A perfect example of sunflower thorns situation is setting boundaries for yourself. You intention is never to be a mean person or be hard or some way. You set boundaries because if you don't, people will try to have their way with you. What they can do to you, you might not like it. That's what makes your boundary thorns necessary.

So that tough part of our personality is what's giving the protection and the support for the soft part of our personality. We just learn to appreciate both.
