Planting a seed or buying another new phone

You choose between things that either increase or decrease in value whenever you spend your money. If I buy a new phone, it would be appealing because of its bright screen display, new phone design and the flex of a new model, but two years later, when the phone's battery is now giving me issues, I will need another battery to replace it, assuming they even still make batteries for the phone. But a good and tangible long term investment into a seed planted in soil, if well taken care of will have a different outcome altogether.

Although I may plant it in the ground today, there may be a length of time before I see any signs of life from the seed. I once bought a phone and accidentally dropped it in a bucket of water, I no longer have that phone or the money I spent on it.

A lot of people in Nigeria want to buy things quickly. People in Ghana also want to be seen as having the latest iphone and Samsung or other devices only to be disappointed later. They believe that using a cell phone can make their lives easier, but the majority of the time, people use their phones for social networking and not for completing tasks.

Right now my head is even starting to hurt from the brightness of my phone. People spend $500 on a new device and after three years it's only worth $50. A tree is not going to lose value that fast. I hate buying things that don't last and have no use after I'm finished with them. Soil is already charged with interest, and is affordable and available at all times.
