Explain in detail the term storage
Agricultural storage can be defined as the practice of storing farm product, especially the grain and vegetable to prevent them from spoiling so that all the farm product can still maintain it freshness. Some farmers store this farm product in order to make profit where they would sell it to the consumers when the price are high.
The farmers who store their farm product will do everything possible to prevent pest from attacking it so that it can last for a long period of time, this farm storage normally occurs after harvest. Farm product play a crucial role because it would make the food to be surplus in the country and this will occur throughout the year, this storage also enable seed preservation for future planting.
What is the importance of storage in Agriculture
➡️Food storage enable our mind to be at peace because in that moment food will be available throughout the season as a result of adequate food preservation. Doing this will enable food to maintain it whole quality particularly based on nutritional value.
➡️Storage facility also allow the farmers to supply raw material to local industry so that they can used it to produce useful products to the masses in order to meet their daily needs. Their will be an significant improvement in our economy based on agricultural means.
➡️It also helps the farmers to reduce food wastage, this occur when their is availability of storage facilities, our harvested crops will be safe through this process untill it reach final consumers.
➡️It also safe for farm animals because their feed contains harmful chemicals which grow to form fungi and bacteria as a result of poor storage facilities. All these can be dangerous to animals health when they are consumed. Proper storage of animals is necessary so that our animals can stay healthy and safe.
