Basic Knowledge in Agriculture #82
Explain in detail the term mechanization
In the olden days, many farmers relied on traditional methods of agriculture where manpower was used to carry out agricultural processes. Mechanization farming is the process of using machinery to help increase productivity in the agricultural setting. Mechanization has made agriculture easier because, in this modern world, it is used to replace manual labour.
This advanced farm technology allows humans to meet their demands at the right time as well as to improve their income. They cultivate large areas of land within hours; that's why farmers use it to reduce their workload.
Agricultural mechanization is the modern evolution in the agricultural setting, where the use of trucks, tractors, drones, harvesters, and other types of modern farm equipment increases production efficiency.
What is the importance of mechanization?
• It's an opportunity for young people: it serves as an opportunity for rural farmers to have something doing because it is a form of entrepreneurship to ensure that food is surplus to the general masses as well as to have enough crops to export to europe for other production.
• Eliminate shortage of labour: it helps eliminate the effects of labour shortage because some farmers have migrated to urban areas with the intention of increasing economic activities, so with the effort of mechanization, it makes the farms more functional.
• Increase farm income and yield: mechanized farming has supported farmers in earning more money, including both small and large farms. Farmers who make use of agricultural mechanization will not need to pay labourers for a long time except those who help operate the machines. It will increase the yield process, which in turn enables the farmer to make more profit.
