Pick and Write [Agricultural Word]👉#24
Weeding can be defined as the process that farmers use to remove unwanted plants from the soil that we have already cultivated. We also remove weeds in our garden because without them, all the vegetables we plant will not grow.
The weeds we see are competing with the crops, particularly for important resources that are useful to our plants in order to make them yield. These resources include water, sunlight, space, and nutrients. If weeds are present in our farmland, our productive output will be low. These weeds serve as hosts that insects use. Therefore, removing them plays a crucial role because it lowers the risk of plant infections spreading.
There are different methods farmers use to remove unwanted grass from the farmland, and these include the following:
• Manual weeding: involves using traditional tools such as hoes and weed forks to clear the weeds from the farm, or using one's hands to remove weeds.
• Chemicals for weed control: are often used these days. In fact, the majority of farmers I know use this method. There are selective herbicides that destroy weeds without affecting your crops, and this happens through the spraying of chemicals.
• Mechanical weed control: is often used to prevent weeds from growing too quickly, as well as to promote faster crop development so that our crops can make progress.
All these methods are effective, but their success depends on the choice of the farmers. However, they are mostly used for large-scale farming to prevent damage to our plants.
