Eggshell powder use

People just discard stuff so quickly. My neighbor’s garbage bin is always filled with a lot of egg shells, which is basically a loss of calcium. You can wash them. But, you must dry them well first. If they are wet they will smell very bad.

Some people will use a mortar and pestle to grind them down into a very fine powder. That takes forever and I don’t know if everyone has that much energy. So even if they knew its use, I doubt they would try to make use of it.

After you're done getting the powder, you can mix the powder into either your rice or your banku. If it’s mixed smoothly into your meal, trust me it won’t affect the flavor much, I've done it a couple of times. If it isn’t ground fine enough, the problem is while you're eating it you'll find large pieces of shells in your mouth, which is not nice at all. I have actually tried to do this one time with my tea but the powder did not mix well so it settled at the bottom of my cup.

The calcium in the shells is great for your bone maintenance. Doctors usually recommend more calcium as people age. I left a bowlful of shells out for three days on my countertop. I live in a small apartment, and I often feel like the shells look like a big pile of chalk, because they’re just sitting there. If you have the patience to grind shells, I will encourage you to do so
