This question is very interesting and it popped in my head some time back, this is basically what I learnt about pineapples.

I actually always thought that pineapples come from some tropical trees. But no they are actually the fruiting body of a squat bush looking plant that grows in semi arid conditions and they actually grow on the top of the bush. Each bush only produces one pineapple and I believe it takes a year to grow to the right size so it can be harvested.

Most believe that pineapples grow from trees which is not true. They grow from a leafy plant and those leaves grow around a stiff center. They can grow from the seeds that are in the pineapples, from the tops of the pineapples or from the pup that grow on the sides of the mother plant before it dies after a pineapple is produced.

Yes, you can grow a pineapple from the green, leafy stems at the top. Just cut a pineapple and plant the leafy top in the soil and take good care of it like other plants.

Pineapples are tropical fruits and grow best in tropical conditions with there's sufficient sunlight. They thrive in tropical conditions and can also survive in subtropical conditions. Pineapples don't tolerate freezing conditions for long periods at all.

Growing pineapples is something that will come with plenty of unique challenges. The pineapples that we have growing in pots have been adapting to extreme weather. Today we have a high temperature, so far we have been able to bring the pineapples through these types of weather without any casualties. We water them every week before and during the really hot dry seasons.
