Using Aloe vera

If you haven't used raw aloe vera leafs before I'll tell you a little about it and what you'll get.

The leaf comes apart without any problem, the gel inside is really cool and slightly sticky, but not anything like what you squeeze from a tube. It goes on the skin clear, it sits on the skin for about a minute and then it disappears completely into the skin.

My own aloe vera plant only gets watered every two weeks but I can forget sometimes, it's although I've made it a routine but when you have to be at the shop by 7:00am, it's not that simple to do everything on your routine schedule, but thankfully still continues to grow thick waxy leaves. When I cut a leaf off right near the base I'll get some of the light yellow sap that comes out, you should still let this sap run out before you use the clear part underneath which is what you actually want to use.

The sap does have a very light, slightly green and medical smell, but it is not in a bad way. Although some might not like the smell, maybe I've been used to it. Unlike products in stores which they will tell you they smell like cucumber or some sort of aloe candle, this has no real scent at all.

The thing to really think about is the fact that the more clear and plain something is, the harder it is to sell to someone. A group of expensive creams on a shelf that have a bunch of fancy looking labels that state what they contain and percentages and dermatologist recommended will always look and feel much more convincing than a houseplant sitting on your windowsill. Many of those products do work just like a cut leaf does for sunburn, redness and little minor problems we do to our skin every day, and it takes less than 40 seconds to do both.

And you save money having to grow your very own natural cosmetics. I'll continue to learn because there's so many things we pay extra money for that simple herbs and plants can actually solve. It's a system that has been designed to make processed products look more effective than natural ones. It's not always true.

Natural is best. I have heard that these plants also produce oxygen at night, in the dark.
