How many brains does the person taking 1st position in class have that you can't? Does the person have 2 brains? This word alone can either motivate or break someone, especially if that person is someone that tries to make people see the good in him, but it's the broken phase, the fact that he's a loser in life and can't make it as others are doing.

Build a creative piece inspired by A Broken Clock.

Joshua was the last child of the family, and all his siblings happen to be bright and highly intelligent, always at the top of their class, but that wasn't the case with Joshua. His intelligence quotient was low, and he struggled academically. His parents even had to pay for extra classes. They saw him as the black sheep of the family, one who would disgrace the family on the call of his own name.

Every day they kept reminding him that his siblings are way brighter and that he's dumb. Joshua felt like someone broken with no value at all, but his teachers in school keep telling Joshua that he has something people fail to see: his ability to use his hands and brain to solve life's problems. Everyone saw Joshua as one with no value. The parents stopped giving him lessons from teachers and left him to be just like that until he picks up. One day, Joshua was taken by a talent hunt company because they saw his skills in technical ways.

Joshua went on competitions and won and became a prestigious person in society even though he could speak fluently. His capable hands and broken brain did.

What does the broken clock symbolise in your work?

The broken clock in my scenario is a child who happens to be seen as the black sheep of the family. To the family, she's broken, but to her, she has other skills and hidden talents that the parents aren't seeing. People tend to focus more on the broken pieces of a clock than on whether it has stopped working or is still working. They see the broken part and fail to check other parts, not knowing the clock can be broken, but its battery and hands are still in good condition.

Every child has something special, and you shouldn't expect all children to flow the same as others. We are all unique in our own way. So this symbolises growth, uniqueness and speciality even when others see you as someone without worth or someone whose future may not be bright because you're not good in many areas. There's always someone or people in a group that are always different from the rest but have something uniquely different too which may not be seen most times.

Is it a story of loss, hope, regret, or second chances?

This is a story of hope and second chances on the part of the child and his parents. He has hope that someday, he'll be great with the talent he has even though he can't read well, speak well and is not that intellectually sound. The parents will definitely be given second chances when he has made it in life and now depends on him financially. This is someone they thought had no future.

What lesson does your interpretation carry?

Cases like these happen in almost all homes with special children. At some point, parents regret having them as children. That's how bad it can be, but don't forget that the rejected stone can always become the chief cornerstone as told in my story. They are now dependent on the person they rejected and called black sheep.

There's always light at the end of a dark tunnel. No matter how broken a clock is, it has other parts that are good which you can't see. Strive to see the good in something extremely bad. You'll always find a good in that thing. Don't just draw conclusions, as you may regret it when someone shows you the true worth of something you saw as worthless.
