SLC-S31/W3-“Creative Interpretation| The Theme -“Silence Speaks”
The word silence is not an empty moment. Sometimes it can shout more than the loudest noise. What if the silence which you do ignore could be the loudest answer your life is waiting for?
Interpret “Silence Speaks” creatively in an art, poem, photography.) |

In this picture(photography), I am standing inside my farmland full of grass to be cleared. The grass shows that there's a lot of work still waiting for me in this farm because maize planting season is ending soon. And I haven't started planting yet. Standing in the farm my eyes look up to the sky. I don't speak, but the silence here shout more than any word.
What message is being communicated through silence in your piece? |
|---|
However, that silence in this my piece says that life has different problems, but there's still hope to those problems. The farm is a symbol of struggle, the sky is a symbol of prayer and dream. So by keeping quiet, I show that sometimes words can't carry what is inside the heart. The Silence here says , “I think, I wait, I hope.”
Silence also shows respect in some aspects. When a person is quiet, he can hear the nature and hear his own heart. For this piece, silence join the hard ground of farm full with grass with the endless sky of possibility and hope to build ground against accomplishing the challenge or task.
Who is silent in your interpretation and why? |
|---|
I'm the one being silent. I choose to be silence because sometimes to talk won't change anything. The grass which full the farm reminds me of the responsibility and struggle I had to face. If I begin to talk now, it won't help me to clear the grass. However, but if I just stay quiet, I could gather the strength to face the challenge no matter what challenge or problem it is.
Therefore, silence doesn't mean weakness. Sometimes when an elder is quiet, its wisdom that is speaking. Silence can show discipline and maturity. It can show that I don't rush to talk or act until I understand what happen or about to happen.
Another reason is connection. As I look into the sky, I'm connecting nature silently. It give me the chance to listen to what the breeze and greenish nature speaks. So silence is not only about me, it's about something bigger than me which is the nature.
What Happens If That Silence Is Finally Broken |
|---|
If silence break, words will come out. But those words will carry weight because silence have already prepared the ground. Breaking silence can be like water which burst from dam—release will take place.
If I talk after that quiet moment, I could say: “I must clear this farm now.” That talk is not only about grass, it means that I am ready to face life challenge. Silence can prepare the heart, and when it break, action will follow.
Breaking silence can also bring healing. Sometimes silence do hide pain. When a person finally talk, people will understand what was inside his heart. That talk can bring support and encouragement.
But breaking silence carelessly can scatter peace. Words that there's no sense inside can spoil what silence took time to build. That is why silence is very important—it teaches patience. When silence break at the right time, it will turn to wisdom. It will change thought to speech, and speech to action.
My Conclusion |
|---|
So in all, rounding it up “Silence Speaks” it's not just a theme, it's the truth of life. I can say silence is full of a lot of meaning, because in my piece, silence speaks about reflection, strength, and connection. And Its me being silent here, because silence give me the space to think and to connect with the nature. And when the silence finally break, it brings more clarity, healing, and action. This will help me to face the challenge in my front. So before taking any action let's silent speak first.
