The dog who never gave up.
In a quaint little village, with high trees and wide fields surrounding it, lived a brown dog, Bruno. Bruno was neither the biggest or the strongest dog in the village, but he possessed a courageous heart and was loyal to his master like no other. Mr. Daniel, the owner, was an old farmer, and every morning Bruno followed him on his work around the farm.
Bruno helped to keep an eye on the hens, he ran free with the goats in the fields, and went wherever Mr. Daniel did. On Mr.
Daniel's own words, "Bruno is surely small, but his heart is surely bigger than the whole farm".
One unfortunate evening, a heavy storm began to brew, and Mr. Daniel set off into the nearby woods searching for a stray goat.
It grew darker and darker with each passing moment as the rain intensified; and still, Mr. Daniel never returned. "It cannot be!", cried Bruno, and he began his long journey through the thick, muddy woods and on the faint animal trail.
Soon a small "help!"
echoed through the trees and Bruno found Mr. Daniel by the base of a large oak. His leg was injured after a slip and fall, but he was safe thanks to his loyal canine friend!
Bruno stayed by his owner's side all throughout the storm and he refused to leave until two barking people were heard in the distance. Bruno sprinted through the rain, led them to Mr. Daniel, and helped them carry him back to the village.
The next day, Bruno the dog was celebrated as a hero all over the village, but to all he remained the same kind old friend.
Bruno the dog had certainly taught me many things but the most important was how courage is not simply measured by sheer size and strength; it can also be the greatest act of loyalty. Animals truly speak through their actions and words of affection, honesty, and loyalty, and little bruno changed lives through and through.
