The little monkey that changed my day During the Saturday morning when I was sitting outside my house enjoying fresh air I heard strange noise coming from a tree in front of my house. I dismissed it as some birds making noise but when I looked up there was a small monkey sitting on one of the branches. The little monkey looked frightened as if had got lost in the forest. It kept looking around for where it could go and it looks like a small child getting lost in a shopping mall.

I kept watching the little monkey and I saw that it was clutching tightly around the branch of the tree. I wondered where the little monkey could come from as I had never seen any monkey closely in my street before. After sometime, the small monkey climbed down slowly and came closer to the fence. I stood still and did not make sudden movement.

To my great surprise the small monkey did not run away. It looked at me like it was trying to read my mind or something. I thought I could put some bananas on the ground and moved to some other place away from where I was standing.

The little monkey waited patiently for some minutes and then slowly moved to the position where I had left the bananas. It picked up one banana, quickly climbed up the tree and started eating. I could not stop laughing at this funny little monkey as it looked so serious when it was eating.

On next morning I saw the little monkey again but this time it was accompanied by two other monkeys.

They sat on the trees jumping from one branch to another. Watching this fun gang of animals reminded me of how intelligent and fun animals can be. That small episode has taught me something very simple but very important in my life, animals have their own methods of communicating with each other, feeling fear and having faith in us. Sometimes we all get too busy with our lives that we forget to enjoy the things around us.

The tiny monkey disappeared into the trees but I still remember that one Saturday morning.

It may have been a short few minutes encounter but it has made that Saturday morning so very special! Since then, every time I see monkeys in the wild I remember that little visitor and the happiness that he bought me.
