This is the process that detaches the soil and the soil is transported away from that location which is its original location. This process is a natural process but the activities of the human beings can accelerate it And ultimately can cause environmental and economical consequences. There are numerous types of the erosion of the soil.
The one type is the sheet erosion occurs due to the rainfall from the surface of the land. Another type which is the rill erosion occurs due to the water concentration and small channel have created on the surface of the soil.Wind erosion is a major type of the soil erosion and this happens especially in the arid regions and the semi arid regions because the strong winds are blowed in these areas.
The several factors can influence the rates of the erosion of the soil. The changes in the climate Especially the amount and the intensity of the rainfall which has important roles in the soil erosion. The properties of the soil such as the textures of the soil , the structure and the content of the organic matter also has affects on the erodibility of the soil .

The water erosion is one of the most important cause which is driven by the impact of the drops of the rains and the water flow. The raindrops remove the particles of the soil away and especially the intensity and the duration of the rainfall affect the erosion of the soil.
The wind is another factor which causes the erosion of the soil. When the winds are strong, this pick the particles of the soil and away.
The soil erosion affect the fertility of the soil it destroys the topsoil which is called the most fertile layer, this layer has a rich content of the organic matter. This will be reduced with the greatest soil erosion. If the soil fertility reduce and then ultimately it will affect the crop yields.
With the reduction of the fertility of the soil the need of the fertilizers will be increased to get the more nutrients for the crops. This can cause the environmental pollution.
Due to the erosion of the soil the ability of the soil to absorb water reduced and ultimately which can lead to cause flooding.
