Fertiliser is so supportive to crops as it is a substance that helps crops to grow well and more healthy. It is added to soil or plants to supply essential nutrients needed for healthy growth and high crop productivity.

Every plants need nutrients like phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium in very large quantities as well as secondary and micronutrients like calcium, magnesium, zinc, and sulfur. In some places, some farmers would always tell you that natural soil nutrients are not sufficient to support continuous crop production making fertiliser the best option for agriculture.

Fertilisers are of two types which are; organic and inorganic which are in a chemical form. The organic fertilisers are the type of fertiliser that includes compost, manure, green manure, and crop residues.

They help to improve soil structure, increase water holding capacity, and enhance microbial activity, making soil more fertile over time. Inorganic fertilisers, like urea, NPK, and ammonium sulphate, supply nutrients quickly and in precise amounts, helping crops respond rapidly, especially during critical growth stages.

The reason why farmers use fertiliser is that it increases food production and ensures food security, especially in regions with a growing population. When you use fertiliser properly it can lead to higher yields, improve farm income, and better crop quality.
