SLC-S31/W6-“Creative Interpretation| The Concept -Becoming”
Some years ago when I was still staying in my parents' house my dad's favorite phrase about me anytime that I messed up would often be Becoming. He would just tell me that you're becoming a man and I would just smile over it without considering some factors.
Every young boy would become a man one day and every one of us is thinking of becoming successful in our society which is not an easy task. To date, the words of my father keep ringing in my head and anytime I recall them, I get scared of what the future holds for me because I have come to realise that becoming a man has its own challenges that are even more than being a boy.
Becoming am is full of responsibility which is exactly what my father often wants me to understand each time he used such words to talk to me. Becoming a man is full of a lot of problem-solving and it is not easy to become a man especially when your finances are low.
Becoming is something that we hope for; just like now I can see I wish to become a president someday which becoming a president one day comes with its own challenges. Becoming is letting us know what is ahead of us, and for us to prepare ourselves ahead which is the key objective of what my dad always wanted to know about.
Now that I have understood his phrase of becoming I am now living my life with care and counselling whenever I am faced with multiple responsibilities to solve. Becoming is seeing what is ahead and what we hope to achieve or become in the future.
What transformation is taking place in your interpretation?
Growth, change, and problem-solving are the transformations that are taking place in my interpretation. In my interpretation is make mention of challenges and growth which simply means that as we are becoming what we want to be or dream to be we will be constantly faced with challenges and the ability for us to solve our challenges would take us to where we want to be in life.
What challenges appear during this process?
Life obstacles and how to navigate challenges are the challenges during this process and the major challenge is finance. Money became an issue when I wanted to do things on my own without the involvement of my parents I had to work extremely hard. It wasn't easy for me at all during the process of becoming a man on my own.
How does your piece connect to your personal growth or vision?
My piece connects to my personal growth and vision because anyone who has chosen to become a man on his own must be ready to face challenges by leaving his comfort zone or becoming independent which the piece perfectly connects to my personal growth as I followed such steps.
