Prevent cut papaya from drying in the refrigerator

Papayas are costly right now so when I get one at a grocery store it has a thin skin which I can cut into with ease, but because of the many seeds inside it, I cannot eat all of the fruit right away.

If I put one half of my fruit in the refrigerator without plastic wrap or tape on top of it, I will lose money because the cold air in the refrigerator will remove moisture from the fruit, causing it to become as dry as wood rather than being sweet like it was when I bought it.

Because of how wet the outside of a papaya is, it is usually difficult to get tape to stick to it to keep the plastic covering on. I should have bought a smaller papaya and used a bowl that was properly sized for this size fruit.

If you leave your papaya uncovered after cutting into it, the flavor will change quickly. It is better for me to eat my entire papaya immediately than do that.

If I cut the fruit in half, I leave the black seeds in the half I'm putting in the fridge. This helps it to stay firm. I don't really care much for the flesh of my fruits soft and watery. The taste will stay fresh for one day because the seeds trap moisture in the fruit. My Papaya was bought from a roadside vendor.
